I am back up a pound but I am OK with that. I am walking and doing very light weights pretty much every day. I also had a "controlled cheat" 2 days ago- 1/4 of a zone bar (7 carbs) because I was starving and it was going to be after the gym before we had dinner. Went to a cookout at my brother's last night and ate chicken (although it was smoked with apples) and broccoli only. No bread, baked beans, or ribs with BBQ sauce for me. Birthday party with spaghetti tonight at my sisters so I am bringing a baby green salad with feta. I will probably eat that and have protein before and after I go. Tomorrow mothers day feast at my aunts. I will be having a ribeye with bleu cheese sauce grilled by my husband so I will not want all of the other yummy things there. Next week: daughters graduation and party and sons sports banquet. I am very proud of myself so far. Thanks for giving me a place to be accountable.
Eta: my phone auto corrected ribeye to riveted

Keep up the great work MS.

Sorry too lazy today to type out madamsquirrel.

Phantom weight gain from yesterday is gone.

323/188.4/185

BUT

Oh dear, going out to dinner tonight and then Mother's Day tomorrow.

Dinner tonight could get ugly. I haven't had fried food but a couple of times in the last year and my brain is SCREAMING for fried seafood.

Not sure what is going to happen....stay tuned...same bat channel....same bat time....

I made it through the party with no cake, bluebell ice cream or spaghetti or bread. All I had was a cucumber salad with a glass of stevia sweetened lemonade and a deviled egg. I wasn't even really hungry because I ate before I went and I am getting used to resisting dessert. I did research low Carb desserts today just to have a few recipes in case I need them later.

Trying to drop 10 lbs in 14 days, so I started my carbless diet today. I can feel my body craving carbs though even though I ate a healthy amount of food today. Looks like a few of y'all here are doing some kind of Atkins plan, any advice or thoughts? Breakfast suggestions other than eggs and bacon?

I try to watch my carbs in general, I've never been one to eliminate them from my diet, but this is just a quick fix for a wedding I'm standing in.

I wouldn't do a carbless diet, a part of your brain needs some carbs to sustain. Granted it's a short-term diet, but be careful.

Suggestions for breakfast.. I usually do 3 eggs, 3 strips of low sodium bacon. Sometimes I'll cut up a cheap steak and put that with some scrambled eggs and throw some pepperjack or cheddar cheese. You can treat breakfast like any other meal if you want; pork or whatever. Just eat something

P.S.

Cad, Myth, any other low carbers.. I found this:

At the specialty section of wal-mart. I was hesitant to buy them so I didn't because often times if it's too good to be true.. it probably is. But low carb flatbread. I bet some tasty wraps could be made. Anyone tried these?

A friend of mine uses low Carb wraps and Atkins bars and still loses weight but most of the forums say they could cause a stall. Also I am diabetic and it does cause an increase in my blood sugar numbers. Also
220/212.5/150 I lost half of that pound that crept up.

Hmm interesting. I don't want those bars.. I saw them at wal mart and they don't appeal to me. But a low carb wrap would be cool. They have a lot of fiber in that bread so it would help "the system" stay healthy too

Happy Mother's Day all you mothers.

Filet Bernaise with jumbo lump crabmeat was deeee-f'ing-licious. Only ate 7 sweet potato fries and gave my daughter my dinner roll as my sacrifice. Mother and wife are sated and happy.

guilt and sweat tomorrow.

I'll probably be feeling guilt next weekend. Going home to see my family, and Friday is my brother's graduation. I'm planning a cheat day somewhere in there.

I made it through the mothers day get together. Had a little milk, yogurt, stevia and strawberry "ice cream" and a few raw carrots. Everything else was low Carb. I am still in ketosis and considering it a success.

I too have been reading all of the encouraging stories on here when I come on to check out new recipes. I reached 265 pounds and decided it's time to make a change. I started 2 weeks ago on my own plan (no atkins or weight watchers for me). I have tried to cut my calories to less than 1800 per day with less than 25g of fat and started walking some holes at the golf course after work. I allow myself a break on the weekend, however I still look to cut calories wherever possible (Bud light is my enemy). I have lost 9 pounds and see a big jump in energy since I started eating breakfast. Who knew? Anyway, just wanted to congratulate all of you who are working hard to improve your health and thank you for giving me the motivation through your stories to get on board as well!
