Ok. I am really confused now. What is the difference between Keto and low carb? I've been under the assumption they were the same.
100-150 grams of carbs per day is considered low carb
ketogenic is pretty much under 40g per day
Most of us who do keto enjoy the benefits of being in ketosis/keto-adapted. In my case, I can speak to: more energy, clearer thinking, better sleep.

I'm probably doing everything he says is bad.
I am not checking ketones, and my daily goal is already at the border of ketosis.
At least he said low carb is better than high carb. And ultimately, I am keeping calories at or under target for weight loss, so I'm not too concerned for now.

First time in a month of keto screwing up.. I had a couple of beers tonight during the bowling league.. They were Michelob Ultras though so hopefully not too much damage.

But from where you came, you are so much better off the junk food.
Keep up the work

mich ultra is < 3 carbs per beer. I doubt it had much of an affect at all.

Did my first IF until lunch two days this week. Amused by small portion sizes filling me up. Scale is still trending downward slowly.

My dieting and lifting schedule has been so out of whack since I got back from the beach last tuesday. With Memorial Day weekend being last weekend not helping...
I really need a strong Monday of dieting and lifting to set the foundation for the rest of the week and I haven't been able to have that. This upcoming week should be a lot better.
Haven't even gotten on the scale since my beach trip. I know it isn't pretty.

I haven't tried fasting sans keto.
The scale is evil, evil right now. I should stay away until I'm all adjusted to carbs.

How am I making excuses?
If anything I'm being a whiny bitch, which would be a fair assessment to make. But I'm not making excuses.

You never actually gain weight. It's always just water weight: despite always drinking beer and eating(or over eating like you admit to doing) bad on weekends. Yea it's whiny but you also gotta be real with yourself

I don't really agree with you, and here's why:
I do admit to myself, and the board for that matter, when I do not eat right or overeat. This past weekend I went off of the reservation and admitted to such, and I admit to it every time. I know that some of this weight I've put on in the past week will be real fat because of the weekend I had. I'm not stupid, and I'm not lying to myself. I've lost plenty of weight before (as you know) and I have been through all of this before. I know what I'm facing and that you have to be real with yourself.
That said, it's also normal to put on water weight after a cheat, especially on keto after eating carbs. You put on 2-3 pounds for a couple of days and it comes back off. It's not some crazy idea that I came up with.
Regardless of the source of the weight, I know what I currently weigh and am adjusting to it. These past few days I've been slapping on all kinds of weight from dropping out of ketosis; I knew it would happen, but it's still a tough mental hurdle to overcome. To eat well and stay under calories for 5 days and watch yourself put on 8 pounds is tough. That said, I'm going to continue to diet and eat under calories. I'll probably frick up and drink too much and eat too much too often, but that's just part of the journey.
