PSMF
Protein Sparing Modified Fast

A scientific crash diet.

Eat frick tons of protein and only protein and tons of non-starchy veggies. Lean proteins only, like chicken breast, pork Tenderloin, and most seafood and fish.

The idea is to starve your body of both fats and carbs to force it to burn body fat while you gorge on protein to spare your muscle. About 1000 calories a day, depending on what category you fit into. Lsu 777 has the ebook on his Drive account listed on the first post.

You will feel like dog shite at times, and youll hate your gastrointestinal system. But it burns body fat like nothing else.

In the wise words of lsu777..
Protein Strictly, Mother fricker

What's your other stats? Post age/ height/ if weight training or not and estimated bf% and I will run the calculator.

Hulk laid it out pretty well. Basic synopsis would be 1-1.25g protein per lbs of lean muscle plus 10g fish oil, 20g carbs and 20g fat outside of fish oil. That protein is min amount, fat and carbs is max amounts.

Like hulk said, protein strictly mother fricker.

It works well and as you get to a lower bf% like below 15% you will notice a large recoup effect more so than weight loss.

Since Jan 1 I'm at 26 pounds loss, been sticking with 1600-1800 calorie diet and cardio. Started doing body weight exercises at the start of February.
200 sit-ups a day
50 push ups
3 pull ups
50 dips
And I have a couple of bags of sand I move back and forth.

For the most part yeah, but last weekend I drank like a fish in NOLA. However, I still made sure to knock out 4 miles before drinking and then walking around all day helped.

Honestly not sure rfl is right for you. Your calories are absurdly low. You should just try iifym or do whole30 honestly, cause this is gonna be way too hard to do. But below are what the calculator says. I estimated body fat but you are over 30% for sure.

Instead of all that, why not just eat meat and non-starchy veggies...and that is it. Don't cheat, don't stray, just limit your carb intake to roughly 50g a day - you don't even need to be full on keto but changing your diet is the hardest.

Shop the outside edges of the grocery only and feel great. Once you're at a lower body fat %, then go to PSMF and lift to lower body fat. Right now, just changing your lifestyle is most important and the hardest. People slip and yo-yo because they think they can have "cheats" when it is that very food that is the root of the problem.

Edit: get enough sleep as well - it is very important

Junky is right. Do what he says. Eat fattier cuts of meat and sticks to green non starchy veggies. If you can afford it eat grass fed beef, locally sourced eggs from farms market switch to coconut oil and grass fed butter for your oils, or order ghee or any of the fat from fatworks. Cut out all diary except the butter if possible and if you can use ghee instead. Try and cut out all artificial sweeteners and preservatives. But the last two things are just suggestions.

Also skip breakfast and eat all meals between 12-8.

So it would look something like

Morning-black coffee

Mid morning-black coffee

Noon- break the fast with your largest meal of the day. Preferably this would be some form of grass fed beef and some green veggies or it you could make it you breakfast and have 6 free range eggs and 6-8 strips of uncured bacon or a grass fed steak. What ever you like.

3:30- smaller snack. Something simple but keep it to protein and fat only as much as possible.

7-8- dinner with family. Again keep it to protein and fat for main course then add some veggies.

Obviously times can be adjusted to what works with your schedule. I find keeping it simple during the week helps and if I want to go all out for a meal I will cook something more complicated on weekends. Google will be your best friend as far as finding recipes. Lowcarbyum is a great site with great recipes. And don't be afraid of the butter, put it on them veggies. When you get stuck and plateau then either do a round of whole30 or do a fat fast for 10 days.

I also suggest you read the whole30 program and the book by then it all starts with food. It's on the google drive linked in op. So is fat fast book.

You should really think about taking up weight lifting, especially at your age.

Need some motivation to make a final push. Trying to drop another 5 pounds to get down to 180 for my 30th birthday in two weeks. Last two years have been challenging, but it's rewarding to be in probably the best shape of my life.

I keep up with this thread pretty often and have incorporated several of the trends in my diet every now and then.

357/235/ <200

I've been so fat for so long that I thought I'd have A LOT more muscle mass under all the fat. A year ago, my target weight was 220. Now I can see that I'd still be pretty pear shaped at that weight.

I'm going to hit the AT this summer for about a month. I'm hoping that'll push me down to @200lbs.

I still don't really exercise that much. I need to build some muscle. My skinny legs and lack of pecs is embarrassing. I'm thinking I'll get back into Tae Kwon Do when I get back from hiking. Hopefully that'll help build muscle.

I just don't think I have it in me to hit the weights like I used too.

I've basically restricted my diet. My wife and I both did an all shake diet for about a month starting last April. We were just tired of being fat. It got a lot easier by June to just eat less.

I bet I rarely go over 1200 calories in a day.

Congrats man, that takes a lot of effort. Why no motivation for weight training? Man even two days a week done right would have drastic effects on your body comp, you should really think hard about it and try and get back into it.
