What's a good amount of butter to melt to dip steak in?

2 tbsp? I don't want to over do it

I reverse sear my steaks using cast iron skillet. I take them and put them on a cutting board and let sit for 8 min or so and just take a couple of thin slices of grass fed butter or imported italian butter on top. Dunno exact measurement, just put a thin thin layer on top and spread with a knife like you would toast.

For dipping, just make it taste good. At your weight you will more than likely lose weight no matter what if staying in ketosis. And the grass fed butter will help improve your omega 3 vs omega 6 ratio which will improve good cholesterol(hdl).

Remember when I said keep it simple? Do that and don't over think it. On Keto your body will tell you when it's had enough.

Use grassfed butter, ghee or full on heavy cream for coffee. And shoot for 15g or below on the sugar after two weeks on 25g. Also overall net carbs are important also but controlling sugar is a great start.

Also for the The people following an if it fits your macros approach; Understand that you can sub fats and carb calories out but you should not sacrifice protein macros under any circumstances. They are the most important macro for body comp changes. After you get your protein in, eat what you want within your cals.

For those on a low carb diet, same goes for you. Do not sacrifice protein intake. Also if you are 30lbs or more overweight, eat as you please concerning the amount of fat intake. If you want to eat nothing but bacon do so(just switched to uncured), if you want 3 lbs of butter....drink up. Point is at that size your body will regulate itself and tell you when it's full. As you are getting down to the 15% body fat range or 25% for females, you will have to adjust and get much more strict.

Also everyone in here should be lifting even if it's only 2 days a week. Outside of cutting out processed carbs, it's the single most important thing you can do for your health and well being....looking at you females.

Lost a couple more lbs this week. Finally past the holiday plateau. Legs are feeling much stronger & already looking better after a couple dedicated weeks of doing a lot of squats.

I've admittedly become less diet focused as I get closer to a point where I'm happy, but I appreciate the motivation and information I get here.

I've been lifting 4x/week lately. Haven't hit the gym since I got sick, though. I went to the doc yesterday so hoping by tomorrow or Wednesday I can be back in the gym. Don't wanna be the guy coughing and sneezing all over equipment.

Would you recommend lifting to your mama? Cuz I'm probably older than she is.

25g is difficult right now. I didn't realize how much sugar I was taking in. But, it's quite a bit. So, I'm working on getting it down. Right now just paying attention to the sugar is a good start. Over the next couple of weeks I'll be working to get it down to 25 and then look to get it lower than that.

Darla, I would recommend it to my grandma and anybody else. Hell my grandfather lifted until 82 and the only reason he stopped was because the cancer had him so tired he could hardly walk. If you have to then just do bodyweight, but don't make up your own, do a successful proven program.

if you don't want to lift I highly highly suggest the elemant program for gymnastics bodies. it involves bodyweight movements with stretches and you progress through the movements from beginner to advanced. at the start most 75 year olds could do it.

honestly lifting is more important the older you get due to its effects on bone mass and ability to be able to do everyday task. and despite what some might think, the more explosive lifts become more and more important as you get older due to loss of speed in the muscles.

Too true. I will always need to lose 20 more lbs, no matter what I weigh.

No way. I'm generally positive. But psycho grouchy women probably claim the same, so maybe I'm just lying to myself.

Darla,

More and more research is coming out that lifting (including bodyweight exercises) helps older people stay stronger and healthier than walking. You don't need to lift 500 pounds or anything. Just use those muscles.

I follow Cory Gregory pretty heavily and his 92 y/o grandpa (WWII vet) still lifts daily. He's like 6'2" 230
