Been waffling back and forth on trying to eat right and get into some shape since early december. I don't have a ton of time between work and family obligations.

Treadmill desk - anyone with any practical experience? I am just trying to think of ways it won't work. I have a desk job. If I walk 2 hours in a work day at 2.5 MPH I could be looking at 900 or so calories. That seems enticing.

Seems like you'd have to walk slower to be able to type, but I have no idea

Would you recommend lifting to your mama? Cuz I'm probably older than she is.

Lift. and then lift more. Contrary to popular belief, you can still get gainz at older ages. Just be sure that nutrition is top notch because that is 90% of the game. The extra 10% is the magic.

Eat to lose the fat, lift to put on muscle. So, do that and pay no attention to the scale. Muscle weighs more than fat so if you are losing fat and gaining muscle, you're weight may increase.

I'd recommend checking the scale after 30 days of being strict, and taking pre and post 30 photos so you can see the change.

Some people keto (adkins) here, but there are several diet options in the OP. lsu777 has a diet for lifting that may work on his drive listed in the OP.

I even have the develish ornish's diet listed (because of my spat in the other thread I mention that) but I don't recommend it. Everyone is free to choose though.

Back up to normal and minus a tiny chunk. I knew the cold screwed with the scale the other day

Me too and I missed last night due to the game. Haven't lost any weight yet this week but I did notice I have lost more off my waist, gonna try to stick to the diet and exercise regimen perfectly the rest of the week and not weigh or measure again until Sunday.

But I still ate like a king last night

12 pieces of tuna sashimi and 9 salmon sashimi. This is how you do extreme dieting right and screw anybody that says it's too much meat and I need veggies.

Holy mother of god. That looks amazing. That all fit in your macros?

I might have to sub a meal like that for the chicken and veggies one day this week.

Really unsure why I had a 5 pound jump this morning. Guessing it's the mix of being sick, steroid shot, antibiotics, decongestant, and the breakfast quiche I made being waaaaaaay over salted. Had about 200 calories left over yesterday, expected to wake up lighter.

Ughh. That can be so discouraging. Those shots will jack you up. Two of my (thin) friends were complaining about weight gain after steroids to treat colds recently. Both had the weight drop off after a fairly short period, but it freaked them out.

It's water retention from the steroids. Will come right off, don't worry about it.

It was like 650 calories so like 17g fat mainly from the salmon and then 110ish protein, so yea it did and I had only had 8oz chicken and some Brussels sprouts earlier. So it put me close to going over on fat but it wasn't gonna hurt anything.

Had the sashimi and the clear mushroom soup which is pretty much calorie free. Was an awesome change of pace.

I had gained a little weight back Sunday during the day and this morning I weighed same as Sunday morning and way leaner. I know waist was down to but trying not to measure these too often.

I'm just rolling through the chicken and green beans the rest of the week until Friday/Saturday.

Don't know if it's ketosis or my body adjusting but I haven't stayed full off so little in my life

All I've had today is 5 baked wings and some pizza toppings scraped off and I feel great

Hopped on this Himilayan pink salt craze I've been seeing lately. Tastes fine. Anyone else use it instead of sea/table salt? Experience any of the following benefits?

quote:

Aids in vascular health
Supports healthy lungs and respiratory function Promotes a stable pH balance within the cells Reduces the signs of aging
Promotes healthy sleep patterns
Increases libido
Prevents muscle cramps
Increases hydration
Strengthen bones
Lowers blood pressure
Improves circulation
Detoxifies the body of heavy metals

I've used it for a couple of years.. Most of the claims are largely debunked.

Only issue I've kinda noticed is feeling bloated some throughout the day. Just like a gas bubble in my stomach

Especially after I eat dinner. Whether it be wings, steak
