I know people are big fans of Huy Fond, and I remember seeing a thread about how they are in short supply. I saw these yesterday at the Hong Kong market on Sherwood and Florida.

Supposedly the recipe is different and lighter in color. Haven't tried the new version.

What I can no longer find is the Huy Fong Sambal Oelek. And I haven't found a good substitute for it (unlike with Sriracha).

They changed the source of their peppers years back and it hasn’t been the same since.

I've been able to find it at the, uh, less fancy grocery stores. For whatever reason it doesn't appear that the brothas give much of a shite about Huy Fong Sriracha.

The original supplier now makes their rip off version from the same peppers.
Google Underwood Ranch Sriracha

here's the old thread saying it's impossible to find
I hadn’t seen it locally (right outside Charleston SC) in quite some time.
Was in Publix today, saw two bottles, grabbed them both. Guy stocking shelves said he filled the rack a couple of hours before, it went quick.

I’ve been looking for that as well.

whole foods (towne center) used to offer Sriracha wings at the meat counter and they were amazing on the grill... could not get enough. Then they stopped one day.
This lead me to try the actual Huy Fong Sriracha in a bottle , which I marinated normal wings in , then grilled -- quickly realized I do NOT enjoy that flavor. Not good.

I never loved the stuff in the first place. And I love hot and chili sauces. But to each their own.

Southern Chili lab in Gulf Shores has a black garlic Sambal that you should try. It’s delicious. I’ve been using it in several dishes.

Just ordered some. My son puts black garlic on everything now. He even made some of his own. Interesting stuff.
