Pistolette in New Orleans?

Where can I find a great pistolette in NOLA? Not a dessert one, the ones with meat in them like etouffee

I haven't seen anything about stuffed pistolettes in New Orleans. They're usually in specialty meat or Cajun type stores.

I'm with you, man... I love a deep-fried crab or crawfish pistolette. I haven't had any luck finding them here, sadly. Other than the occasional festival.

Liuzza's By the Track has a BBQ shrimp poboy, and it's basically just shrimp stuffed into a pistolette. Good stuff.

The one's you get at Jazz Fest are from Poupart's Bakery of Lafayette. They may not be the only ones. But it's sort of a festival food as it handles well. FWIW, my favorite thing in the festival world is a breakfast pistolette stuffed with pan sausage, eggs, and cheese.

When Frank Brigtsten was running Charles Seafood he had thing called the Dirty Boy on his menu. As I recall it was dirty rice stuffed inside a pistolette and it was fantastic.

There's a place on Canal, across the street from the new VA Hospital, that has stuffed beignets. Can't recall the name of the place.

I would give them a shot. It's definitely a cajun thing. THey're tough to get in BR too. I generally have to go to Port Allen to Bergeron's to get my pistollette fix, which sucks because when I was a kid growing up in St. Amant, I was spoiled on getting them at the local grocery store.

Is that the stuffed bread at jazz fest right next to the crawfish Monica booth? That stuffed bread is prob my favorite thing to eat out there. So good

Come to Gretna Fest. The Boston Club - West out of Gretna does them. Sometimes they're soaked in grease, but they're good.
