Saint X is classified as a "brew pub" with only onsite consumption of their beer, therefore they can have a full bar.

Same with Flying Heart after they switched their license to brew pub. Allowed them to sell beer made by others plus other drinks.

Utility in Ruston is another like that. I was in there once when two young women ordered something like a cosmopolitan and a tequila sunrise. The kid behind the bar was used to just pouring beers. He paused, got out his phone to google recipes, and eventually cobbled together two drinks. The ladies seemed pleased with the results.

eta: Edited to a nicer version of my reply...

You seem to complain about the most trivial things.

I have the opposite problem.
I have been good naturedly fussed at for going to fancy cocktail bars and ordering wine.

Most States have similar BS laws. The "3 Tier" system is no longer necessary to protect us. It is now being used to profit the big guys..

“Mix” drinks?

The adjective is “mixed”.

You clearly have ZERO idea how entrepreneurship and making money work

No I get it. I wasn’t talking about the place itself. I was simply saying that I don’t understand why someone would go to a place that has built a business around brewing good beer and not getting beer. Why not just go to any other place?
It’s not like it physically upset me, I just find it odd.

They go there because they serve other items that this person wishes to consume. I don’t understand why you don’t understand.

In New York, breweries can have a farm designation if the meet certain criteria, mainly that 60% of hops used for brewing and 60% of all other ingredients used are grown/sourced in the state. As a farm they can then sell other NY-designated alcohols on-site (wine, cider, spirits). This really helps open up options if someone is gluten-intolerant or just likes things other than beer.

You won't successfully be able to order a Crown & Sprite but you can get a NY whiskey & Sprite.

Atmosphere in most breweries is pretty good. And spacious.
Atmosphere in a lot of bars is pretty crappy.
Especially during the day.

Bayou Teche Brewing has some awesome cocktails. I usually get a Navy Grog every time my wife and I stop there to eat.

Why does the brewery have mixed drinks if people shouldn’t order them?

Maybe they know the owners, maybe they were meeting friends there, maybe they like the food, maybe there are a 100 reasons they went but didn't order a beer..

Grown people complaining on the internet about what other people do is a pandemic in this country.
