Last night it was Stone Enjoy By IPA, Ommegang Fleur de Houblon and Anchor Liberty Ale.
Earlier in the week I had Old Rasputin, Green Flash Saison Diego and Saint Arnold Endeavour.
There are lots to choose from for sure.

Anybody know how the crowd is on a Saturday? We have a big group going for a party. We called ahead and they said they could reserve some booths for us for like $100/hour.
Is the place big enough for a group of 20 or so to sit around without feeling too much like a club?

Granted I haven't seen it packed to the max or anything, but the space is huge. It's much better than most bars in BR, so you could probably be fine.
The back wall is all couch areas with tables. I have had no trouble getting into a couch-booth the both times I went, but the place was still in soft opening mode so it might be busier now.. not sure.
Either way, I wouldn't pay $100/hour in a place that big for 20 people.

Yes. Just show up and hang out. It's plenty big enough for a group like that.

Yep, so in addition to the the Enjoy By citrusy hop aroma, you can also enjoy cigarette smoke aroma. And see the owner yell at his employees.

First visit to Pelican. Easily my favorite bar in BR right now. Obviously there are still some starting pains with the food and glassware, but all in all, a very solid place to hang out after work.

I went last night and left after one drink...(to go to Ivars of course)
It was very spacious, but the music selection was kind of off-putting (just not my taste) and my Macallan 12 was 13 dollars. Ordered it on the rocks and the dude poured it with one of those gauges and looked at it then ask "do you want more rocks?" I laughed and said no.
It definitely has potential and I want to see the crowd that comes in on the weekend.
I'm worried that with it being right off the interstate, it may attract Livingston and Ascension Parish crowds.
It just seemed like a lot of dudes in there and the only good looking women were the waitresses.
I know it was a Tuesday night and there were no women at Ivars, but I'm very curious to see what type of crowd demo it brings in this weekend.

I love how Baton Rouge people always bring this up. Newsflash: the population you are referring to is more often than not actually from BR.

Beats the southern U crowd.
Just saying.
Just saying.

Wait, you're worried about the Pelican House crowd, then you went to Ivar's? Seriously?

I am looking forward to the outside area being finished and enjoying a few happy hour drinks.

Fleur de Houblon
How was this? And how was the saison?

Probably the most disappointing Ommegang beer I've tried. Not terrible, but I don't have to get it again.

This was really nice. Well done beer that's flavorful and refreshing.

I had it for the first time last night at Pelican and thought it was very pleasant. Nothing breathtaking, but a solid brew. Then again, it was my last of the night, so who knows
