With the craft beer community growing daily, we wanted to provide local beer lovers an opportunity to connect with their favorite breweries. That is why we have created the Delta Brewer's Ball. This will be a chance for you to connect with local and regional breweries in a more personal, authentic way.

None of these things should have cost The Pelican House a dime.

It is reasonable, based on the above write up, to surmise that $30 would offer more than a t-shirt and bbq.

With all the negative reviews this beer has gotten, why bring this one to an event where Parish is bringing Ghost and St. Arnold's is bringing Bishops??

We didn't go because it would have been 70$ for tickets, babysitter etc..BUT..If I would have gone through all of that money before I walked in the door, THEN had to pay for beers...

Oh, I am with you, but in the 'whats included' section, it doesn't say anything about free booze

an obvious mistake

Seriously though..I read what "special beers" would be there, and pictured Zapps, WYSE(rip), etc. style of tasting..

or at the very least something like what Avenue Pub does with Zwanze Day where you ticket gets you 'x' number of pours.

Instead you ticket got you a pork sandwich, a $5 tshirt, and a bunch of shite the breweries gave them for free.

ETA: and a free pint of beer when you go back.

Limited edition, let's do some simple addition

Thirty dollars for a T-shirt, that's just some ignorant bitch (shite)

I call that getting swindled and pimped (shite)

I call that getting tricked by a business

I spoke to multiple people during the week that were under the impression that tasting of the "specialty beers" were included in the $30.

That was the impression my wife and I had. We figured it would be like Zapp's, Grand Reserve Day or Brew at the Zoo. Yeah, they're not giving you a full pint of Ghost or Bishop's Barrel, but you would get some tastes for your $30. You just have to say that the following beers would be for sale.

Lol so mad for being duped into losing money. You don't ask questions about the event before you buy tickets?

PH has always had great service. most of their servers have been there from the beginning and do a good job.

Cover is the only annoying part of that place and sometimes the choice of live entertainment. But it's still a great place to get drinks and watch some sports.

Also, the food is above average And not over priced for a bar.

I have not been back to Baton Rouge in a few years, and obviously have not been to the PH, but are you telling me it's a bar/restaurant type place that has a cover charge? This seems odd to me.

I dont understand how so many people were "tricked", for lack of a better word, into spending $30 for beer event and didnt do the responsible thing and actually check on the terms and cost of the rest of the event would be. I mean, frick Pelican House for charging a cover for something like this anyway, but you get what you deserve if you dont do your own homework. Did no one ask if beer would be included in the cover charge BEFORE paying the cover charge, or was Pelican house very misleading in this?

It's very odd and they only recently started doing this. Their friday and Saturday crowds are light for the size of the place.

PH needs to do something to bring in a crowd during the week.
