BWW on bluebonnet is really bad about this. I'm talking 5-10 minutes away from bar kind of bad.
Sounds like a smoke break without anyone else to cover. Sounds like they have some real strong management at BWW.

It's heinously bad. Their turnover rate is frequent.

You strike me as someone who would frequent BWW in Baton Rouge enough to notice s trend like that.

PH sent this out tonight.

We want to thank everyone for attending our first annual Delta Brewers Ball. We worked hard to get all of our brewers in one spot and to try to offer a truly unique selection of beers you would be hard to come by anywhere else in the state. Our team was able to put together a selection of over 60 local and regional craft beers, many of which are very highly allocated
We have gotten feedback from many brewers and guests, both positive and negative. We have taken all of it to heart. We want you to know that we strive every day to provide our guests with an incredible experience and exceptional value.
Although we felt value was created by the unique experience, unlimited food, event t shirt, access to brewers, and a swag bag, we understand we fell short on clearly explaining what was included. Fair or unfair, we are judged based on expectations. We believe this event was unique and well worth the $30. That being said, we have heard all concerns and will always strive to better everything we do. Anyone who was dissatisfied can come in and have a pint on us, in a show of good faith.
If you have feedback you would like to give us on the event, please do. In everything we do, we want to constantly get better, and your feedback can help us do that.
Please send any feedback to events@thepelicanbar.com or reply to me directly.
Drink local, eat local, and support craft beer
Sincerely,
Gavin Jobe

How is that clueless? They acknowledged there was unclear advertising and perceived lack of value. I dunno. Seems they thought they were offering something unique. Obviously they weren't. If they actually do learn from it, well, cool.
Seems like a shitty event, though.

Because they had plenty of highly allocated beers?

I dunno. Seems like they just thought they were offering something of value and it turns out the actual value wasn't what they anticipated. Assuming they more appropriately value things in the future, well, okay.
That being said, I don't go there when I'm in town. And I'm certainly not defending them. That was a flop.

While ru and B were standing in line for 20 minutes for their highly allocated beer, my son and I were seated in the bar at The Chimes being waited on by a very pleasant young lady. She brought me a flight containing 5 oz pours of Black Xantus, 2014 and 2015 KBS and BCBS, and my son a huge catfish platter and a pint of Dr. Hoptigon, which cost me only a little more than $30 for both of us. I didn't get to talk to any of the brewers true, but I've already talked to most of them at their place of work, so I don't feel like I missed out.
Back to OP, it sounds like Gavin and the guys realize it was poorly spelled out as to what the entry fee gained you, but they didn't come off as very contrite. If any of them are reading this thread, I really hope y'all can figure out what you want your bar to be when it grows up, and do whatever you need to do to hire and train up some good help.

I'd rather they fix the issue than come back with their tail between their legs. Contrition without change is worthless. Change without contrition is not.
Ideally you'd get both, but, fat chance

At this point I couldn't care less. I'm finished giving the PH a chance.

I would agree except that this was essentially the exact same thing they did years ago with that $17 pint of Canebrake bullshite.
They advertise something as a beer event... turns out to be a food event... and when people feel deceived they say "sorry we tried to do something fun and unique for you... you didn't appreciate what we did and maybe we should have explain ourselves better... come back try again"
Yeah, no thanks.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, you get the full F&DB treatment.

What the hell is wrong with that? Sounds like a good response to me.
