Your hook is showing.
To the poster who thought it was Guerrero- That was actually a pic from Taqueria DF. ($1.50 tacos and they have every style of meat)
That's the one BO is always pubbing on here. They're excellent. I did hit Guerrero over the weekend and was very impressed.

Mission brand flour tortillas from the grocery store bread aisle > handmade corn tortillas. Do you even Superior Grill clientele bro?
O Brah you had George's yet? The carne asada is super clutch for the price.

Personally, I don't like corn totillas, too dry and flat flavor. They seem to take over the other ingredients. Just my, ho
They are supposed to be fried in veg oil on grill first. Do not eat them straight. Completely different flavor.
Yeah we had a Mexican-descendant cook them for us once at work. I bet the Sheetrock in the bathrooms still holds some of the stench

Haven't tried George's, but I've been on a Mexican tear lately.
I've been hitting Zocalo on Jefferson Hwy regularly, Taqueria DF, and Guerrero which are all killer. It's crazy how many good spots we have, yet the shitey ones have all the good locations.

Can't believe you are just now getting there. Aren't you a pro yelper ?
Also how is the place in the shady strip mall on Jefferson Hwy? I've only been once since they changed owners and name. I didnt like the change and never went back.

There are people that prefer flour tortillas to corn? Holy shite....my Auntie Jean from Oshkosh, Wisconsin might actually be the best Mexican chef on the planet after all!

I'm not sure that people who dislike corn tortillas have had them prepared properly.
I used to be in this camp, but then I learned how to lightly fry them before eating. It was a game changer. Fresh corn tortillas are hard to beat.

Love corn. Do not like cornbread. Do not like corn meal. Do not like corn tortillas. Do not like raw tomatoes. Love flour tortillas. It's not complicated.

I know that I am at a more authentic place if it serves the following meat: al pastor, barbacoa, lengua.
i still have tried jalisco (cactus) yet.
I could use some menudo

I was so confused at first. I was hoping you were trolling.
But in all seriousness, flour and corn bought from your standard grocery store, those corn are gonna be pretty bad. Ideal has pretty legit fresh ones, however, and those are the GOAT.

love them both equally. I never been able to get a good flour tortilla since my childhood of making with my Mexican Neighbor/adopted grandparent, love that lady.

I can only eat flour ones if they are heated up.
i can eat corn totillas heated or unheated.
ive probably burned off enough taste buds to not taste a difference anyway

Corn tortillas can vary greatly from place to place even if made fresh. I've become of a fan as I've tried them at a variety of places. Had some with chicken and mole a few weeks back. Leg quarter + mole sauce is damn good.

Nothing wrong with flour tortillas. They each have their place. Nothing worse than a dry corn tortilla, I don't care if it was pressed that day. Dry tortillas suck.

Real Mexican tacos double up on the corn tortilla.

Which makes them suck double if the tortillas are dry.
That shiny meat is pretty. La Morenita here I come.
