Many places call those street tacos, right?

I've never heard of them being called Mexican tacos...either street tacos or just tacos.

ETA - I want to buy a reversed comal bola just so I can have taco cook outs in my back yard.

Felipe's isn't fit for a starving, feral hog to eat. Absolute shite. Sure, hyperbole, but that place is terrible.

Are corn tortillas and butter a common thing in Texas (or Louisiana)? Texans I know do this, but it is unheard of at the "southern Mexican" places we have here.

I've been here about 11 years and have never actually seen anyone do that.

Heard in conversation a couple of times, but never witnessed.

ETA: But HEB does make some fresh butter flour tortillas that are delicious.

When I hit my favorite roach coach taco stop they always use corn tortillas. They throw them on the grill to warm them through then put some kind of white cheese on one side of one of the corn tortillas. They then put another plane tortilla on top of it to make a mini cheese quesadilla they then put the meat, a little lettuce, onion, cilantro and that's it. They give you some green hot sauce in a jello shot cup and that's it.

Not hyperbole in my book. Place sucks.

I think that's a San Antonio thing. At least that's where I've seen it served most commonly.
