try the Shrimp and Grits next time. We make them with the same grillade gravy and they are quickly becoming the number one item sold.
obvious advertising

I told Opie his packaged tartar sauce sucked and didn't belong next to his kick arse fried shrimp and he started making homemade tartar sauce. See
Good customer service for good customers!
We stopped going to a restaurant that my husband and I and some of his coworkers frequented because of the way they treated my husband when he told them his draft Abita Amber wasn't cold.
They could have handled the minor situation so much better than they did.

I made this for my GF one time using the recipe from Mr B's (who has my favorite shrimp and grits) I was so proud because it came out tasting exactly like the restaurants..
GF could NOT stand it! She didnt like the combination at all. Said the red eye gravy was "too gourmet-ish"

I'm sure she still appreciated the effort. What did "too gourmetish" mean? I think of grillade gravy as being very "not gourmet"...more country-ish.

This looks like a shameless plug to me.
For your information, I don't work there, own it, etc. I was only in there this morning and noticed they had the andygator which I know a lot of people have been talking about. I was only trying to help those interested. So excuse me for trying to help some people out.

Well the Mr B's recipe is different than a grillade recipe.. Unless you use 5 pepper jelly. Basically its rendered bacon fat some chicken stock, seasoning and pepper jelly. I still think its more of a rustic dish though. I think she was referring to the sweatness mixing with the grits and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Just too complex for a girl from DS I guess

See, I knew this was going to happen....I have plugged so many of my friends restaurants in here (Primo's is great...see Matt)...It's really OK tigergirl to promote a place you enjoy...and I am sure by the response you got in your thread a lot of people were helped. Cats just insensitive he can't help it

We have a few sponsors paying for exposure on the site, and it isn't fair to them to have someone plugging their place for free.
Thanks...

Have you been to opie's? I hear it's the best of Blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda, etc. Here is the address, and the phone number. Be sure to come in fridays, when we offer 2 for 1 little tarter sauce packets in foil wrappers. (Shhh don't tell martini).
By the way, I doooooooooooont work there.....
Like that? LOL
Martini, If you wanna do the hot dog stand, I'll go in halves with ya. Just let me know.
To all the ones on here for the kind words, thank you, I assure you it makes my day.
For the ones that try to pump their places and pretend to be "customers" tsk tsk.

Kinda like this cheesesteak guy?
ETA: It's bad enough to self promote, but when you degrade the competition on a neutral site - that is just classless. Good food speaks for itself.
I'm boycotting this joint on pure principal.

Wow, I just read this thread...As for Ambrosia, they have a good product, not only with their cakes & pastries but food as well, soups, chicken salad etc....The service complaints on here are not a joke, they're truly clueless on how to treat customers, and if the manager posted on this board and said anything other than "I apologize, and will sincerely try and resolve those issues" than he's a effing idiot.
China Express on Coursey is without a doubt the very worst Chinese food in Baton Rouge...Too bad, cuz they used to be one of the best.
I've got to get Opie's soon. Too many good things are being said about that place.
