I have to admit I am getting a little nervous about this shipment. The sale actually closed on June 2nd with promise to ship in 7 to 10 days...all according to my purchase invoice...that should have put my order in shipment on June 12th at the latest. I have received no word about this order (aside from my purchase invoice). Being they are a week late with any shipping and I have received no word about shipping, I guess I will try my hand at reaching them before canceling the charge to my Credit Card.

Not sure what to call this but will require great linebackers and a lot of teaching and discipline to work.

check and see if your overflow pan under the evaporator coil is full of water.
You can expect labor to run you time and a half or around $150. They will have at least a one hour min.
You have followed the money and discovered the real force behind this. 1.27 Million dollars in oil and gas leases that have already been issued....more to come. Only one thing standing in the way....time to get him out.

Good job Shexter

410A would most likely need an evaporator coil replacement ($1500.) unless your coil is less than 10 years old. If you have a gas furnace in your attic it would be the box above your overflow pan. If you have electric heat it is probably part of your coil/blower and, if not available, you would need to change the electric air handler unit($2200.)...unless less than 10 years old. If you go with the dry charge or freon 22 unit there would be no retrofit needed later on ....just change the coil and possibly the metering device and you are good to go.

The advantage you have with the 410A system is efficiency....you can reach up into the 20 SEER (seasonal energy efficiency rating) as opposed to the max of 13 you achieve with the freon 22 system. This means a smaller utility bill each month...but unless you are ready to spend the money to go to at least a 16 seer system....go with the freon 22 or dry charge condensing unit and save the money.

I am still selling at $40.00/lb.

Each freon producer calls it by their name but it is a direct drop in replacement for freon 22. NU22 is the one I am using and the cost is a little less than 410A and about half the cost of Freon 22. When freon 22 is finally phased out the cost will drop lower.

no problem... would still be glad to help out with suggestions....not all A/C companies are just in it for themselves. Most of us want to help out and raise the standard of the industry.

There are low cost drop in replacement freons for R22. You would not need to replace anything else if you go the r22 route.

If you decide to go the 410A route you would need to replace your evaporator coil and flush your line sets.

Give me a call and We will talk about your options.

I very much enjoyed your class. Thank you for getting me in....Have to apply for renewal before Nov...sorry about the 1911...I will bring the Glock 22 next time...I just had some old .45 Russian ammo to shoot up.

I would be very interested in signing up to attend Tom Givens class when he comes to Baton Rouge....please keep us in the loop here.

This....I started with a single shot 20 and could hit a dove with one shot...as I grew into an automatic it took three shots to get that dove

No, I trust ya. but still 275 is quite a rise from the 60 we used to pay for a drum...now that I would call through the roof.

re: Plumbing problems

Get on the roof and run a water hose through the vent stacks(no water needed)and see if they are plugged up. You may be able to free them or you may need a roto rooter service....If the showers are back to back they may be on the same vent.

This guy just called back and dropped the price $300.

You have a good understanding of business. A coil may cost $400.00 but it is a half day job usually requiring 2 people...they will also replace your safety pan and float switch. Freon 22 has gone through the roof(around $400.00 for 30#)...410A has dropped to around $60.00 for 25#. You add to that a warranty an the general expenses of operating a business and you will see $1500. is proper.

Your HVAC company is playing a very old game of giving you a price in hopes of you taking it...after a couple of days you call back and lower your price...I know of companies that will lower the price 4 times.

Good luck with everything

Formicary corrosion is the reason he is suggesting the aluminum coil. Most companies are doing this. The price is a little high. Should run you around $1500 but not knowing your exact situation....I suggest you get three bids.
Goat, shotgun great choice for you. You should be able to hit the intruder unless he can take flight
