Gonna be in Opelousas Saturday for a football game. What would be some good places to go eat lunch and/or supper?

def pizza shack and I would say soileaus even though it isnt as good as it once was.

the steakhouse at the casino is decent also. quarterhorse races start tomorrow night.

you can also check out the steamboat in washington or cafe josephine in sunset. both are about 10 min from opelousas and I would probably recommend over soileaus to someone from out of town. cafe josephine is pretty expensive though.

Completely off subject but is the steam boat warehouse any good? I always say I'm going to eat there when I go to Lafayette but always forget.

yes, very good food as I've eaten their 1/2 dozen times

OP - if visiting Opelousas, drive 10 minutes South on Hwy 182 and go to Cafe Josephine in Sunset (818 Napoleon Ave)

One of the better restaurants in all of Acadiana, Lafayette included.

Place sucks and Ive been disappointed every time I ate there. I would never recommend this place to anyone and from the area.

The Steamboat in Washington is where you need to go. Opelousas is a shite hole with minimal selection. The track or Washington. Unless you want to pull up for the spicy lol

I recommend Cafe Josephine as well. It's on the pricey side but delicious.

Honorable mentions: Pizza Shack, Chicken King and Yamato Steakhouse

While more of a take out place, Mama’s Fried chicken was a favorite of ours.

Steamboat in Washington, as others have said, is also very good.

Pizza Shack for sure. Hole in the wall place that may look a little rough, but damn good. You want a nicer dinner, drive a few minutes to Cafe Josephine. You'll need some reservations I'm sure. They stay packed.

Side note, completely blows my mind that an interstate city has like a handful of options.
