There's a ton of great answers in here... I'd be happy with anything from Clown Shoes to Great Raft to Founders, but I'm going to add one that's a personal favorite of mine just because of the breadth of their offerings and the high quality of their beer.

The Bruery.

You'd file bankruptcy in 3 years if you select the bruery.

They cover so many bases so well, and do enough off the wall one off interesting shite, it's hard not to go with them.

Posted by BugAC online on 1/12/17 at 12:47 pm to Zappas Stache I'm going Wicked Weed. I'm addicted to their sours, but they make some fantastic IPA's as well, and they have quite an open portfolio of styles.

Agree 100%. I went to their regular brewery and Funkatorium this summer. I was in heaven. The Freak of Nature and Pernicious are both excellent IPAs. Cerise Morte, Garçon de Ferme, and Black Angel were probably my top 3 sours. I think Cerise Morte fresh on tap is the best beer I've ever had.

I'm assuming we get 100% fresh bottles/growlers and not shelf turds? If so then I'd agree with Russian River, Wicked Weed, and Goose Island that have been mentioned. Don't sell goose island short; sofie, Matilda, BCBS, and their iPas would make a really diverse line up that would be hard to tire of drinking.

But also I'd submit Ballast Point and Great Divide which haven't been mentioned yet. I think both breweries get a bad rap in the gulf coast because they aren't fresh when you get them on shelves there.

Without going back through the threads, I'm surprised Cigar City and Westbrook haven't been mentioned much, if at all. I would have expected more love for Treehouse and Trillium. Surly and Three Floyds didn't get a lot of mention, either.

Cigar City and Surly are also good choices.

For that matter, what about New Glarus? I've not had a bad beer from them in 10 years...

Agree with the others that sound founders assuming you had access to everything.

Parish is actually in the running for this, if they would do a barrel stout I'd probably take them instead due to the juice options

Good choice, but I can't think of a stout from them.

New Glarus. Everything they make is good. They even took away some of the sting of losing to Wisconsin.

Just my opinion, but...

Cigar City and Westbrook have diversity, but they don't have the quality across the board to really capture a significant number of styles and do them exceptionally well.

Trillium probably would get love, moreso than Tree House because their line up is more diverse, but if you've had Trill you've probably had Hill. Trill hops might be considered better than Hill, that's splitting hairs, but Trillium can't touch all the other things Hill Farmstead does well. Same for Tree House. I really think Hill Farmstead is the best in the country. Hell, I could probably drink just Arthur every day. What a brew.

Surly and FFF would have been easy picks 5 years ago, but the scene has shifted so much and they haven't stayed with it. Both have some really solid beers, but when faced with the weighty question of drinking it every day for the rest of my life...I'd get bored. Fast.

In my mind you need a brewery that can at the minimum make two solid hops, something roasty/malty, a barrel aged offering or three (and not all stouts), and some wild stuff. There are only a handful of places that can do that well.

I also considered the brewery, itself, not just the beer. Like I get one brewery to sit in and drink beer. That's why I picked the places I picked. I've never been to HF, although I've had their beers.

Some breweries make great beer, but are basically growler fill stations, otherwise.

I can't wait to go back. It's only 3.5 hours from Boston, and it is absolutely picturesque. Assuming everything works out right, that will be a trip I'll make a couple times a year.
