On this day in 1955, Waffle House opened

...and on 8/6/1955 the toilet paper boom began.

No better sight when driving down the interstate at 3:00 in the morning than to look down the road and see that sign.

Been there too, done that one too. Youngest son lives in Pittsburgh, where there are no Waffle Houses. He can tell you exactly how far it is to the closest one.

I am a purist when I order their hash browns. It takes my son a while to get all the modification words out of his mouth when he orders his.

I had a friend who had never been. He almost cried as we left on his first visit. He said something like, "I'm 62 years old. I can't believe no one ever told me about this place."

By the way Arse, could you handle the grill at a waffle house? Their cooks are remarkable. I have worked a grill (1960s at a Frostop) and am not sure I could manage what they do every day.

They are the largest seller of T-bone steaks in the world.

We traveled to Florida a lot during the Christmas holiday when I was a kid.

Many Christmas dinners were scattered smothered & covered growing up.

Wouldn't want it any other way!

My pow pow and I used to hit up Waffle House at 5am prior to every fishing trip. Good memories

Recently took my 5 year old to Waffle House for the first time and now she’s hooked.
