I have heard some nice things about this new place on Coursey, got there about 5:30 and it was closed. There were some pits smoking in the back, but the place was locked up.

WTH, you want to make money or not?

I went there for lunch yesterday. Very solid bbq for sure. I wonder if they ran out of food for the day?

Man give em a fricking chance and stop overreacting. They're working out the kinks. I went for lunch yesterday and the brisket was the best I've had in BR. It was obvious that they're having staffing issues but hopefully they can get that fixed and keep serving their excellent Q.

Old School? or Bayou Smokehouse? Website for Bayou shows Saturday hours as 11:00 to 2:00

This isn’t out of the ordinary for real stick smoker bbq places. Run out of food=closed

Something this area is not prepared for/used to. The only well known restaurant off the top of my head that is open for dinner/late is Terry Black’s in Dallas but they have a 24 hour operation going. Some BBQ places do fajitas or burgers for dinner, but 11-3/sellout is pretty status quo.

Yep. The standard MO for TX joints is 11-'til sold out. There are a few joints that are trying to move into the dinner hours but those are the exception. I think Pinkerton has dinner hours in Houston.

I agree with the above statements. They are too new to complain. Gotta give them some time. Question is, are they at run-out-of-bbq joint or not? Don’t blame the OP for wondering until we know if that’s what they are.

Yeah BBQ standard is if it's open at dinner, it's a chain or not very good.

Check them out again when they are open. BBQ is legit and brisket is top-notch.
