I see it everywhere. Winn Dixie, Leblancs, and Whole Foods all carry it.

Yes, I see it up here as well. Of course I think it is brewed in Wisconsin or something now, since Katrina.

It is. And it's still not that great.

Stroh's

I have a soft spot for Stroh's since it was very first beer.

Anyone else remember Red Bull? No, not the "energy" drink, but a 40oz that was made by Schlitz. The higher alcohol content gave quite the buzz.

my dad regales me with tales of chugging country club stouts at the drive in and then raising hell when he was a kid in El Dorado.

K&B beer-worst beer I have ever tried.

Schlitz is sold at the HEB in the Clear Lake area of Houston.

Bud Dry used to be pretty good. Don't know what made it "Dry?"

Also the "Ice" beers. Icehouse, Bud Ice, Miller Lite Ice.

Jax and Country Club Malt Liquor. Smuggled a six pack of CC into Tiger Stadium one time in a camera bag. Both of these were eventually bought by Pearl.

Even though they were probably poor to mediocre beers, wish i'd been able to try Jax or Falstaff.

Dixie is contract-brewed in Wisconsin but still easy to find and still not good.

Lowenbrau and Hoffbrau haven't gone anywhere?

I think Pabst makes Pearl now and only distributes it in Texas.

Miller Red, Coors Extra Gold, Sterling Big Mouth.

Old Milwaukee is harder to find now-a-days, damn good cheap beer.

Cafe Masperro had Jax last time I was in there.

I was in an old building in New Orleans last week and the top floor had a bunch of old Falstaff cans like the country club above, that were opened with a can opener. Guy I was with put them in a bag and kept them.

Still available under the name "Lowenbrau Original". Miller sold the rights off to it a few years ago, its now only made in Germany and exported to the States.

This Swiss beer had nothing to do with the domestic Lowenbrau, but I haven't seen it in years and it was mighty tasty. I used to get the dark regularly at about $9 a six pack back in the mid 80s, but it was well worth the price.

This.
It's a Shakespearean character who was jolly.
Ole Diz and Pee Wee hawked it on Game of the Week.

I recall a beer sponsor but could not remember which one. I do remember Diz always saying "just like you seen on the screen, he slud into third base." Thanks, Zack.
