They have the biggest chip on their shoulders re New Orleans food

It's like they have to make up for being from the sticks or chain city by becoming ultra nola food snobs

I'm sure you've met this type before if you've lived in nola for any amount if time -- the kind if person who will say domileses has the best poboy or who says some nasty pizza downtown is the city's best or that casamentos has the best fried seafood even tho they never been to belle chasse leeville or Kenner

Why urbanspoon bigger than yelp in nola? Urbanspoon sucks

Nola food snobs in general are pretty bad. If you aren't eating your poboy from X hole-in-the-wall poboy shop, you might as well have fished it out of a dumpster.

True that most poboys all the same
None really stands out more than others
I remember eating a shrimp from a gas station and thinking it was every it as good as $13 shrimp from parkway or Johnny's

Could not agree more. These jackasses move here and want to start criticizing places that are institutions that I've been going to my entire life. Knowing they have just had their 1st real poboy a year ago.

Well they do buddy. And I grew up eating on Fishermans Cove, Harbor and Kenner Seafood and spend tons of time down in the Leeville, Fouchon, GI area.

Yes I've been to Leeville seafood and I like Casamentos better. Not saying Leeville sucks but it just is not as good as Casamentos IMO. Splitting hairs here because both are excellent.

Lol it's sliced deli meat no? With mustard
No gravy no quality I'd rather eat a buttered plain loaf of bread

It's different. Not bad, but not great. It's one of those institutions that makes Nola's food scene what it is today and what it has been for years. It's earn it's respect.

In general po-boy snobs irk me.

90% use the same bread, get their mayo, lettuce and tomatos from Sysco. There isnt much difference from a gas station po-boy to one served in the restaurant voted "Citys Best Seafood"

You probably can't appreciate a real roast beef poboy. You probably like the mandas sliced roast beef that the lazy places drop into a packet of powder gravy mix.
