So you are saying before anyone gives an opinion on "the best" in the city they have to try restaurants hours away?

All 3 locations you said are better aren't in the city.

In general po-boy snobs irk me.

90% use the same bread, get their mayo, lettuce and tomatos from Sysco. There isnt much difference from a gas station po-boy to one served in the restaurant voted "Citys Best Seafood"
You can marginalize the differences between good vs bad in every type of food by making baseless statements. You saying it doesn't make it any more true.

They oysters Danny & Clydes are serving aren't on the same level as the oysters Casamentos are serving. Not to mention two diffrenet ways of preparation.

Oysters the same or close enough but oil isn't as good at Danny's

Casamentos good bc they use new oil on every batch and have the same guy cooking every day

Yelp is a lot better than Urbanspoon despite the Yelp snobs.

I hate it when they give a place 3/5 for "ambience" when they say the food was excellent.

I love these posts. As if people not from NO can't have an opinion on NO food. I think everyone would agree that NO is a great food city with a tremendous culture. However, it isn't the only place in the world where you can get good food. Believe it or not, there are other places that produce original, locally inspired and sourced food. I hear some of it is actually good too!

The way some people hype the food in NO there is no way it could live up to the expectations.

Why do more nola peep use spoon than yelp for food

I read five users on yelp and base my opinion on theirs and the pics before deciding on trying new place or dish

Places that produce original food are few and far btw and even fewer in non port cities in America

New Orleans is the culinary capital of the USA

Clearly you don't know what you are talking about or I give it 8/10.

An edible Louisiana oyster doesn't IMO have much difference from another la oyster

La oysters aren't that great compared to others in the world

Yes casa buys them from that supplier in the quarter but I'm not sure Danny's doesn't either

What makes casa better is that they use new oil for every batch
Btw hate that they use sandwich bread

But I don't even really care for fried oysters
Only want them raw

When I hear someone mention domilise's I don't know whether to laugh at them, be sad or get pissed. I pity their stupidity.

Negative. I just recognize a decent po'boy when I have one. That's all it is. Decent.

Far from the best.

No thanks.

I put LSU fans at the top because I am part of the idiocy. We are a deluded and butthurt lot with many things.

P.S. I hate David Pollack.

We are passionate and proud here in Louisiana. If you were posting on a UT msg board you would hate Texas snobs.
