A friend of mine is taking his Dad to NOLA to celebrate his retirement. They're staying at the Roosevelt. He asked me to plan his 3 meals.

Friday Dunner
Saturday Brunch
Saturday Dinner

No steakhouses, no budget

What's your 3?

Well, 50 people could give you 50 different answers on the dinner options. So much depends on where y'all have eaten before and what you like. Brennans is probably a good suggestion for a Saturday brunch. I'm not sure what other upscale places do breakfast or brunch on a Saturday.

If I had to answer the dinner question it would be Clancy's and Saffron.

I’d walk over to GW Fins for dinner one night. Get a custom menu printed up - have an amazing meal.

Friday dinner- Galatoire’s
Best place to celebrate anything

Saturday dinner- GW Fins

That is enough eating for me in a 24 hour period, but if you must have brunch, my first choice is always Commander’s. But since the first two places are an easy walk from your hotel, I will add a third for a very good brunch- Brennan’s on Royal Street.

Don’t forget to have pre dinner drinks in one of my favorite bars in town, the Sazerac Bar in your hotel.

Galatoire’s and GW Fin’s are good dinner suggestions for your two dinners. Drinks at the Sazerac Bar at the Roosevelt. For the brunch maybe get out of downtown/the Quarter. Maybe head uptown to Atchafalaya.

ETA: Commanders for brunch also.

Omakase at the Yakuza House is tough to beat in NOLA as a celebration meal.

Very excellent but I'm not sure if I was coming in from out of town and staying in FQ that I'd be driving out to Severn for a meal.

Yeah, I’m sure his Old Man from N La is chomping at the bit to have his big New Orleans retirement blow out to be going eat sushi off Vets in Metairie.

And I wouldn’t eat Galatoires and Revolution and Commanders all in a year, much less a weekend. Gotta throw in something that wows with all that traditional food.
