I made the sacrifice of beer.

I just have to drink more bourbon. Poor me.

You can drink it on Sundays. Sundays don't count. Are you a new Catholic?

I used to give up drinking for lent until some self proclaimed expert announced on television that if you did so, then you might be an alcoholic. So, by not giving it up, I self proclaimed myself "not an alcoholic".

Drink the damn beer!

If you sacrifice now purely to get a reward later, it doesn't say much about you or your religion. That's what Rust Cole would say. Either drink it or don't because you decided to.

Which is why I only give up 1 type of alcohol per year.

I gave it up completely for lent, mostly because I needed a detox from a rough mardi gras, and trying to follow a strict cutting regiment. Haven't had a drop to drink since Mardi Gras day, so I feel confident I'll make it all the way through. Only tough day left will be St Patty's.

I attempted a dry January to start the year and only made it 2 weeks, “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." afterall

What do the methodist believe that is different from the Catholics?

I tried not to drink for the month of March for health reasons. Made it 4 days, going out at night is too boring without booze.

I've been going out still, faking it with soda water and lime. It's tolerable for a few hours, just to get out of the house and do something.
