Whats up with that? You know most people go without drinking for a lot longer that 4 days.

I thought going to a bar on Saturday night and drinking beer in a social environment was preferable to staying home and watching a movie or playing board games.

Why is that? 4 days? You can't stay home for 4 days and not drink after making a commitment to do so?

nope, sorry. I'm in my 20's (barely), I'm not going to squander my youth shut in the house in beautiful spring weather lest I get tempted by a glass of wine.

That's fair. Stop making promises to God and yourself and just enjoy your life.

for the record this wasn't a Lenten thing. I'm not catholic. Strictly health/fitness related. Limiting myself to Saturdays I think is a fair compromise.

So your post in a Lenten thread and you Saturday compromise is pointless. Got it.

All I know is I am fat adapted. You can ingest those empty calories all day, but don't pretend they are helping my GAINZ.

they certainly aren't, and I didn't say it was. Just posted what I think is good information about the mechanics of drinking alcohol and how it affects your goals. I supported your point more than refuting it.

There's a reason I'm not drinking right now, and it doesn't have anything to do with the church.

When you get married and have kids, you'll drink.

That's a fact.

I basically started drinking twice as often after kids.

And that is fair. There are many more reasons to not drink than to drink. Regardless of your religion.

I don't judge anyone. But the first thing that should go in any lifestyle change is booze.

And we married good ones.

Imagine if ours were man eaters.....I'd be drinking like Nick Cage in Leaving Las Vegas where he hooked with Elizabeth Shue playing a hooker.

Great movie btw.

Let's talk about that. I was an alcoholic from my first drink at 14. What is making you drink now?

I appreciate that. But I'm just living the best I can. I'm still a dick on here at times, but I promise I will hold the door open for you.

Life is too short for all this nonsense. Do I think steamed crawfish sprinkled with Tony's is terrible? Yes. Will I eat same and have a great time while wiping snot from my face? Yes.

Let's all just be a little nicer to each other.
