Our most recent challenge winner, NOLAGT, has chosen soup for the next challenge. Everyone makes soup, am I right?
Enter the F&DB Cooking Challenge with your tastiest soup, be it a tried and true, treasured family recipe, or something new and unique. This could be your time to shine!
Submission thread will open by 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 13.

Awesome! Maybe I’ll finally remember to submit my entry

soup is pretty broad. anyway to narrow it to certain types or having a certain protein?

I think having it wide open will make for some creative entries...

The challenge winner chooses, so it’s not up to me. The individual participants will have to narrow it down for themselves.

This is why I left it wide open and so more people can feel like entering

I assume that stews and chilis are legal?

I don’t think those are soups.

Can I submit something my wife makes? Her Asian inspired soups are excellent. Maybe not a visual winner compared to the skills I've seen in other challenges, but worst case I get an excuse to get her to make some.

My husband has been my sous chef on occasion and I think another poster submitted his wife’s cooking. She’s not making it in a restaurant, is she?

Good question, one I had not thought about until now. I would say no to stew and chili. To me stew is a protein covered in a thin liquid and over rice like chicken stew. Chili is its own thing to me. I’d say a soup has more liquid than those. If that makes sense.

Nice choice.
Wife is a big fan of potato soup, so I imagine that's what i'll end up making.

My dog had been the cleanup crew so I’ll allow the wife to do the cooking if you clean up her mess
I also don’t care if it’s made in a restaurant or not. BigDropper is a trained chef in my book with access to a restaurant style kitchen. He still hasn’t won yet doe

But no, she's not. Just keeping her family's belly full.

Is he as cute as my little sous chef? He needs to make a reappearance... we had friends over for the noodle challenge so he was playing instead of helping.

It won't be long before our little sous chef starts participating. Little guy loves to help in the kitchen.
