Poke Loa, corner Louisiana and Magazine. Basically sushi in a bowl, but originated as Hawaiian fish salad. Set up like a Chipotle's. Go through the line, pick out your protein, rice, and mixins. Seems like a good concept. Investment group out of Thibodaux.

You talking about in that little blue building on the down river side of Louisiana/Mag?
I saw them doing work there recently.

I think this is where the Jamba Juice was. Interesting news.

I hope it's better than the one I went to in Austin

It looks interesting. The menu is on the website.

That's going to be some unnamed seafood restaurant from the Namese owners. LINK

I'll probably give it a shot this week for lunch. Interested to see how it compares to poke spots I've tried in California and Hawaii.

Yeah hopefully it works well, but think anything in that neighborhood would struggle without a liquor license. It's tough to park around there that it's difficult to be a "destination" place without the added allure of booze (see all the competing happy hour specials). Jamba Juice couldn't draw enoug. I have no idea how Smashburger is still in business down the street, it looks sparse everytime I look inside. GGs even has alcohol but changed its hours to be closed for dinner to not compete with other places with better specials. I just don't know if this new place will get enough walk-ups and people willing to park three blocks away for quick-casual. I love the concept but think it would do better in the CBD or Metairie (park right outside).

If it is good it will make it. Tons of foot traffic in that area. Will try to check it out for supper this week.

Once the unending construction fiasco on Louisiana is finished, they should be in a good position I'd think. Hopefully they can hold on till that.

I work in walking distance from this thing and you're right. Especially on this corner, there is minimal parking on Louisiana and Magazine. Hope they make it as I need another lunch option.

I am very excited about this place. Not in my neck of the woods but I will have to make a special trip to try it.

Worked with one investor this weekend and he was saying they may incorporate a cooked chicken option to appeal to couples who both don't like raw fish.
