Not from N'Awlins. What is this place known for? ...and don't say the hamburger and the seafood.

Been a long time since I've been but I remember them having very good thin fried catfish.

Never had a bad meal there. Never had a good one either. Generic, bland, tourist food.

Used to be a great place where they hand you the burger and you "dress" it the way you like.

It's very "serviceable" for what it is. Their fried foods are good, they have good Salads and their gumbo ain't to bad either. They use local seafood and French bread.
They have a not a bad shrimp poboy. A lot better than anything I can get here. I sometimes stopped at the Slidell one to get a poboy on my way back home.

This. I used to live across the street and it was my lunch 1-2 days/week. It was pretty good.
Now the place overall is nothing spectacular, not a tourist draw, more of a local mini-chain fast casual. But it was solid eats for the price.

I worked right by the St. Charles location and ate there a good bit a decade ago. Others hit the nail on the head of average, serviceable, etc. Nothing will blow your socks off, but it does the job of getting you fed. Bonus soft-serve cones.

Agreed. Best shrimp poboy I have had (save maybe Captain Humble's pre-Katrina).

The catfish is very good. Get the thick tho. The thin is advertised as their specialty but it's just batter.

I like the eggplant/fried green tomato stack with crawfish cream sauce.

I like their burgers and garlic fries

That’s a fair assessment. It’s a good bang for buck for lots of options.

Is it quick and easy? Reason I went here was I could grab something fast right off the interstate and get back on the road with it without losing much time.

I'm not sure that's the case anymore, at least not at the Metairie location since they did the renovations after being closed for quite a while.
We pick up from there from time to time and the food is good. Not great.
They do have free soft serve ice cream cones if you are dining it. The kids love that.

We used to go often until the Mandeville location shut down years back. Recently ate at the Elmwood one a couple times and was relatively good. Like a higher end fast food seafood place.
