Sounds pretty good. Curious about the atmosphere - may get burned for it, but that's always a big deal for me. I'm a big fan of the Bulldog just because of it's layout and atmosphere.
No smoking and vaping is huge IMO. Cigarette smoke is disgusting and the problem with vaping is: sure, it's not "smoke" but people still don't want vapor blown in their faces. Plus you always get those people who act like they're sticking it to the man by making sure they vape indoors and 99% of the time those people are trashy.
They should try to replicate the menu of this place in Philly called Frankford Hall. I wish someone would open a similar place in BR, it's a great setup with good food and good beer.

wow….that list is better than Avenue Pub no doubt….plus about 25% cheaper albeit a lower cost model than being on St. Charles Ave
I really like they are doing all 10 ounce pours. 16 ounces you can only drink 3 or 4…anything more and you are potentially ruining your day tomorrow….also gives you a chance to drink a larger variety of beers. I could see the only issue with 10 ounce pours is when the bar is really busy...do they offer pitchers?

Honestly, I don't know that crowds will ever be an issue. I actually love that the place is 100% beer focused, and I don't mind the lack of social atmosphere. But most people, especially women, won't feel that way. I don't see the place packing out when they don't offer alternatives to beer, save a couple wines.
Which is fine with me.

No pitchers from what I've seen, the 5oz pours is what I like since I can try a lot of different styles and figure out what I like.

I wonder if they will eventually allow people to walk over to the Cove and purchase bourbon/whiskey/cocktail to bring over and drink. I mean it is owned by the same guy.

BCBS is good, but I think they are putting too much value on their keg.

Tduecen what do you think about the 5 oz pours ?

That picture reminds me of Wicked Weed. I wish BR could have something like both of those places, but not with our hot arse humidity. I loved Wicked Weed's atmosphere.

It's probably more about keeping some overzealous vaping DB from blowing vapors in my face while I'm trying to detect which species of acorn I pick up in the aroma of my beer.

Looks like pretty much every new place that opens in Dallas now. It took Dallas a while to catch on to what I call "The Austin Patio". I think what really motivated places to create these nice outdoor areas is the smoking ban that started 5 years ago.

With that tap list, won't they need to pack it out to turn over the beers?
I'm not sure the women won't turn out. I'm amazed at how many groups of women go to taprooms in Portland. That's an impressive tap list, even if the number of taps does scare me.

From my understanding, if it goes "bad" or sits for awhile they will chunk it and eat cost. Of course I could be 100% wrong but the people in charge seem to care about quality.

Got to sell a lot of 5 oz pours

These types of places tend to have a lot of waste. You're going to find a beer that no one wants when rotating taps. Remember the high mark up though.
