My review of Corporate Brew and Draft

I've now gone several times and had various conversations with the staff, so I'll offer my opinion of the place.
The Good:
- a lot of taps
- very clean
- friendly staff
- you can bring in outside food
- a lot of open space
- abundance of televisions
- knowledgable staff on different beers and styles
- no smoking or vapors
- 5oz pours and every beer does have appropriate glassware
- free shite
Cons: (and none of these bother me)
- sometimes staff gets to talking to a customer and it can take a few minutes to get a beer. Again this doesn't bother me and the staff is probably helping someone choose a beer since the list is so extensive.
That really is about it on cons and the only reason I put that is because I heard someone mention it tonight when they had a crowd.
They plan (from various conversations) on having a snack bar/food bar with popcorn, hot dogs, bratwurst, and I would assume something like little bags of chips. I like the idea of snacks but not popcorn because of the overwhelming smell of popcorn, seems it would take away from the beer.
Also they plan on brewing their own beer eventually and they have a brewing room.
They have a small game room with several games and a pool table I noticed tonight for the first time. I have not tried any of these things out, I will eventually though.
Overall I really enjoy Corporate Brew and Draft and will go to the "official" Gran Opening on the 15th.

can probably chalk that up to the place being brand new

Well yeah I totally agree, as I said it isn't something that bothered me and is really nitpicking. Just a comment overheard and nothing serious really

What's the crowd like? A bunch of beer douches or a bunch of douche douches?
Posted on 1/2/15 at 10:38 pm to TheChosenOne
it officially opened today so its not really possible to give an answer. the way its set up it will be more on the beer douche side if thats the only two options.
it will be a good place to get good beer imo and will not be filled with douchebags of any kind

Tonight was a mixture of older couples, beer guys, people who were curious, and people just hanging out.

Biggest Con: It's very ugly. I was in there, grabbed one beer, and left because it's not an inviting atmosphere. Unless you are a huge beer enthusiast, I don't see this place keeping people coming in for the atmosphere. It's the same shite carpentry used at the renovated Port Royal. I no longer go to Port Royal because it ruined its divey atmosphere with a new, clunky, and uninspired bar.

No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded.
This mentality kills me.

considering its not trying to be the port and its brand new and has never been anything else, maybe they arent trying to attract the port crowd. in fact, im sure they arent trying to attract the port crowd, at all.
the place is there to get good beer.
the only thing imo they need to do atmosphere wise is find some way to cover the giant windows that face the parking lot.

Does it give a view? Would be a shocking revelation for a BR bar.

Maybe since you are always there and get free shite they feel they don't have to jump everytime you blink.

Wise.... Read
FT: the view is as Jones said the parking lot with the big Bancroft building, that is it. Although you get people walking by you can stare at.
The crowd imo has been friendly, no "beer douchebags" per say....
