was just there... didnt eat on the riverwalk though. Its nice, id like to go back without kids, but idk if all the restaurants are just touristy or not.

If you like to get off the beaten path..... Go to Henrys Puff Tacos.(they claim they invented it, but there are others that claim this too) Greatest taco I have ever eaten. The texture has the pros of both crunchy and soft tacos. The Picadillo and spicy beef was great. the shredded chicken wasnt. i would try the chicken fajia over that.

I ate at the Iron Cactus and it was pretty good. Kinda pricey but their Margs and Salsa were some of the best I've had. I also got their tamale lollipops which were delicious as well.

Head out to The Pearl and eat at one of the better restaurants in that area.

Food is so much better at The Pearl.

ETA- Mi Tierra is downtown but not on the RW. Great texmex and margs. It's about 2 blocks off the river.

Boudro's is always great....LandRace is top notch in Pearl...Southerleigh Fine food and Brewery( they have fried snapper throats hummm) in Pearl...Arrosta in Pearl Italian is excellent....Clementine like 4 miles north of River but worth the trip or uber ride ...they have pheasant/quail and other game like Axis tenderloin...Mexican Food ...rosario's is the best...along with Hola!..best breafast tacos in Texas is the Original Donut Shop about 5 miles north of downtown on Fredricksburg rd..worth the drive man they are absolutely the best... I lived in McAllen Tx for 25 yrs and San Antonio for 5 so I know good tacos! If you get out to LaCantera area Palanque Grill is great mexican food. This is a good list for sure! Enjoy

Nowhere. That's not the name of a rec, that's the answer to your inquiry.

No such thing as a "must eat" along Riverwalk in San Antonio.

Sure, they have restaurants, and they may have food that is better or different from the food where you're from, but nothing along that polluted water way is "must eat".

As someone suggested, head out to the Historic Pearl District if you want must eats.

Fried snapper throats at Southerleigh are can't miss.

Cured has some good charcuterie.

The CIA has a student-run restaurant that's pretty damn good too.

Paesano's --- the Shrimp Paesano is a really good dish.
Boudro's - table side guacamole
Bohanan's - prime steakhouse near the Riverwalk

and while you are in SA, go check out 2M Smokehouse. Their brisket and beef ribs are up there with some of the best of Texas.

Honestly its all tourist traps on the boardwalk. I'd find a Taqueria Jalisco.

The Esquire Tavern is not a tourist trap. Cool place to have a drink. Food is meh.

I ate at Domingo this summer and the tacos and drinks were good. Pricey for what it is, but that’s what you get in tourist areas.

Iron Cactus

I don't have an answer but I know this isn't it. There's an iron cactus in Austin and it's not even close to being a must. I know San Antonio has better options than this.
