It's good. I did it with stew meat once also. It comes out great.

way too much salt in that packaged ranch mix.
make your own and the recipe turns out really good. i also add a bunch more pepperoncini than the recipe calls for

ranch:
1/2 cup Dry Buttermilk Powder or Powdered Milk
1 Tablespoon Dried Parsley.
2 teaspoons Dried Dill Weed.
1 teaspoon Freeze Dried Chives.
1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder.
1 Tablespoon Onion Powder.
1 teaspoon Sea Salt.
1/2 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper.

It's a great crock pot recipe when you can find a roast on sale and don't know what to do with it or don't have time to smoke it.

I enjoy letting it sit for 8+ hours and making debris style poboys with it.

I've done it with the packaged dressing and au jus and I've done it with "better" versions. I think the original version is pretty damn good. I do stuff the roast the way I always have, with jalapenos and garlic.

Read about this a few times. It’s time to try it. What cuts of beef work best?

Damn.

The title of the thread reminded me of MD.

I really wanted a fork shot.

Should I be using fresh or pickled peppers? I’m trying this for the first time tomorrow.

Winn Dixie has chuck roasts on sale for $2.99/lb. Looks like I will be having this for dinner tomorrow night.
