Michelob Ultra Popularity

When I was in school only anorexic girls drank this shite. Now it’s the beer of choice everywhere I go. At the casino it’s all I hear people order. At the beach it’s everywhere. Do people really think it’s a “healthier” beer option because of their carb marketing campaign? Why is it so popular when it tastes so bad? It makes Coors Light taste incredible.

could just be where i live but i rarely see people drinking it. of course i honestly dont pay too much attention to what people are drinking.
Miller Lite has almost the identical nutritional content and IMO tastes better.
To each is own, but its the overall calories that matter, not the carbs.

My feeling as well. I don't drink the big 3 domestics as often anymore but they have their place. When I do I go with Miller Lite.

You are underestimating the stupidity of people

Lol no kidding. There is a reason why there are so many detox quick fix powders and drinks. People will go for anything for a quick fix

I don't get it either. If you are that worried about carbs/calories then drink less beer or drink liquor. Why drink that shite?

Miller Lite actually has some element of hop flavor
Ultra and coors light taste like water
Bud light tastes like piss

Wife and I own a beer and burger joint as kind of a hobby, we have 24 tap handles and numerous can/bottle beer and a full liquor bar and Michelob Ultra is the most ordered drink.

It's the equivalent of smoking "lights" because you care about your lungs.
Same with diet soda...wtf is diet soda and why drink it?
I never understood diet beer either.

I know this wasn't the point of your post, but I stupidly played golf Saturday when it hit 102 in Houston. I got 6 Coors light from the cart girl after hole 6 and that shite was better than any craft beer I've had ever.

Ingenious marketing indeed. Marketed as the low calorie/low carb beer before anyone else and it has stuck. People are creatures of habit.

Ultra is outselling bud light where I am at. It is also on pace to do the same in other markets. I think it is a good first beer for an age group. They see others drinking it all the time as well as having more access to it

Ultra is out selling Coors and Bud light in my market. It’s also more expensive. Whoever came up with that marketing campaign needs to be compensated big time.

Anyone remember when Ultra hit the market? I first saw it in 2003.

To think, it started out as a beer they marketed towards golfers

Unless you are diabetic.

The comments about drinking better less beer or whisky are a bit over the top.
Ultra is a great golf course beer. Most people aren't going to drink a six pack of Ghost or a flask of whisky on the golf course. T
