The way alcohol makes people fat is by adding liquid calories to their diet. Calories that can easily be over-consumed.

It is healthier to get drunk and then eat your food. Your body will be working harder to process all the alcohol so it will burn more calories. Fact. It is science.

Serious question, why do people like craft beer?

To me, it tastes so damn bad compared to regular beer like Miller, Michelob, Coors etc.

I have given so many of them a shot and never liked the results.

Says a guy who cares enough to notice? C'mon.

I know two guys who drink it. Both are a bit rough around the edges and would kick the crap out of the pencil necks around here. Me included.

You could make the same sweeping generality about craft beer too.
Both statements would be silly.

Most of the brewers are tone deaf. There is no easy way to go from Miller Lite to any IPA. The brewers have too little interest in making gateway beers to get someone across the bitter barrier. Instead, they make 7 different versions of the same thing that only taste slightly different from one another.

So people just drink the bitter beer over and over until they can tolerate it? I’ve tried and can’t really get over the taste. It’s awful. People that say it’s delicious are delusional to me.

There is a new brewery in Tucker Georgia that has 4 offerings.

Pilsener
Heff
Red Lager
Brown Lager

I was a bit disappointed they didn't have an IPA yet, but they are making really good beer that would be a gateway to IPAs.

I'll tell you why I was laughing at your dumb statement.

First of all, "craft beer" isn't some omnibus phrase that means something. Any style of beer can be a craft beer. There are lagers, pilsners, ales, stouts, porters, IPAs, sours etc etc etc.

Every brewery will not be the same, every beer from a brewery will not be the same. Some "craft beers" will be great, high quality products. Others will not be, just like any other product.

On a whole, the reason why people prefer "craft beers" is that, in general, they are often a higher quality product. They are not mass produced by the millions and millions of gallons. There can be more attention to detail, more quality ingredients, etc etc etc.

I don't mind a high life now and then. To me its a pretty good cheap beer. But there are definitely many craft beers that are simply a better product.

Like what you like though.

I guess that depends on where you are. I've been to plenty of craft breweries that have gateway offerings. Blonde ales, kolsches, lagers, very light pale ales, etc. I think non-craft beer drinkers just get intimidated because craft beer fans can be pretty obnoxious and condescending.

Back to the thread topic, the worst thing about the Mich Ultra popularity is the fact that it has made regular Michelob Light really hard to find. Mich Light is by far the best cheap domestic light beer out there.

and for my inaugural question on site-

Does regular Michelob still exist? I think that was actually a good tasting beer. I never see anything but the ultra, which tastes about like CO2 water.

Couldn't tell you the last time I saw regular Michelob.

They used to do a Honey one that was pretty good as well. Haven't seen that in years.

I did not say none. I chose those words fairly carefully.

This is correct. Have not seen it in years.
