Have to drive down there tomorrow morning for some business with Mrs. Bigfish. I am not familiar with the area or New Orleans at all for that matter. Looking for casual lunch recommendations.
It doesn’t have to be super close. 10 minute drive from there would be fine.
TIA

Damn. I just saw the other thread asking for lunch recs. I’ll check it out as well.

I assume you mean Civil District Court on the corner of Poydras and Girod.
That’s near downtown so there are many options.
Not where I would go but Walkons is right there.
Peche isn’t that far, generally speaking.

Copper Vine right across Loyola. Very good spot. Get the boudin gumbo.

Sorry, I just looked it up. It’s the Jefferson Parish clerk of court on Elmwood Park Blvd.
Doesn’t look like it’s very close to the notable places I have heard of.

Unless your better half has business at criminal court for some reason, I assume you are talking about Civil District Court across from the Superdome. Walk On’s is a block away. The Copper Vine is next to that and has a more upscale menu.
My favorite place to go before events at the Superdome is Domenica in the Roosevelt a few blocks away. And if you want to get more ambitious the French Quarter is an easy walk in nice weather.

In that area you have
Oak Oven (Italian)
Red Wagon (po boy)
Koz (po boy)
Seithers (jazzed up po boys)
Smoke (Solid BBQ)
Kim Ahns Noodle House (pho)
Charles Seafood
Or any chain restaurant in the Elmwood area your heart desires. Some people like Boulevard but I’ve never felt like I’ve got my moneys worth there.

Go to Oak Oven or Seithers in Harahan.
Shimmy Shack is a decent little place not far from where you will be

Thank you, I haven’t heard of any of these places. About to give them a look. Just want something good that’s not a chain.
Also, no it’s nothing criminal just filing some documents.

Look up Charles Seafood.

Oh that clerk of court. My first choice around there would be the Oak Oven on Jefferson Highway.
That is a scaled down version of the clerk of court’s office. Make sure you can file your document there, otherwise you will be going across the river to the main office in Gretna.

I have no recs, but if you’re having to venture into the Orleans Parish Clerk of Court office to get business done, may God bless you.

You can’t be serious. That might be the worst sushi in the metro area. Like I’d eat sushi from Brothers or Walmart first. The nigiri and sashimi are lower grade and the rolls have ground up fish paste, not cuts of fish.
Top sushi joints might include Yakuza, Bisutoro, etc…

Desk Vega’s burgers is good and close to Elmwood clerk’s offfice. Blue Tomato is good. Oak Oven is another good choice. The Boulevard is decent.

There are about half a dozen better places within 10 minutes of Kyoto 2
