Yea I try to keep one in my cabinet. Usually my first pour before I get into the higher proof stuff.

I have been thinking about picking this one up. Have heard good things. However, I need to drink some bottles first.

It might be my favorite shelfie, it’s definitely my favorite sub 100 proof shelfie.

CENLA. Have only seen it at one place.

Crazy. It's pretty much anywhere in BR. Even got a place that has it for $39.99

Honest answer? If a man is feeling lazy, and doesn't wish to read, just grab a bottle of any Old Forester at random.

From the 86 proof to their higher dollar items... I don't think they make a single bad product.

Big Ben Holliday Red Wheat fan, though get the Rickhouse Proof. Incredibly smooth.

For a smooth sipping whiskey or bourbon, I tend to focus on a wheated bourbon.

W.L Weller has some nice varieties.

Redemption Wheated Bourbon was nice. Haven't seen it around here but haven't really looked though.

I think I also had Green River Straight Wheated Bourbon fairly recently and it was pretty good (assuming I've remembering the right bourbon).

Anyone in River Ridge want to help? Lol

River Ridge Wine & Spirits seems to have a good selection. That's where I know several people go to get their usual liquors.

EH Taylor Small Batch if you’re near NO and can pop over to Sazerac House you can get a bottle for $55

For $40ish Russell’s Reserve 10 is fantastic for the price point. So is Four Roses Single Barrel

I was gobsmacked when I saw this on stack at a nearby Spec's location here in Houston for $53. It was my favorite bourbon several years ago, but I gave up chasing bottles years ago as it was so hard to find without playing the stupid allocated bottle bs games. It's a fantastic sipper, along with Old Forrester 1910 and 1920. I believe Eagle Rare is a little easier to obtain these days as well and that's also another nice sipper along with lines of EH Taylor Small Batch.

If you're open to Scotch, Bunnahabhain 12 ($50) is the bees knees for me. I also dig Glenmorangie Lasanta. They're both pretty easy drinking and have a nutty/toffee like influence from being aged in sherry casks. If you're on a budget, Naked Malt ($30) from Famous Grouse is nice as well.

If you're open to peated (smoky) Scotch, Benromach 10 is really nice for around $45. Same for Ardbeg Wee Beastie for the same price point.

For Irish whiskey, Redbreast 12 ($58). It's sherry cask aged and is an easy sipper.

I'm a sucker for sherry casked whiskies.
