Effervescence is a newish champagne bar with caviar options. I've never been, but it looks nice.

Thanks. Most of those places, even though Google says otherwise, do not serve caviar.

Basically, looking for something different than the polo club.

I can't vouch for it because I've never eaten it, but Seaworthy has caviar.

Are we talking actual caviar or just salted and tinned roe?

This is from the Seaworthy menu:

quote:

Caviar
TROUT ROE 25
France
Bowfin 48
Assumption Parish, LA
siberian sturgeon 150
Athens, GA
served with sieved egg, red onion, house pickles,
chives, crème fraîche, cornbread blini

Is the 'Athens, GA' for Siberian sturgeon supposed to be a joke?

I got a bigger kick out of the grinnel caviar.

It's Seaworthy, who the hell knows. We're talking about people that misspell "dessert" on their website.

I will say they do have a legit burger. I can tolerate the hipsters for the burger.

These have already been noted - but either Effervescence or Seaworthy are the better options for this request. Both open at 4pm on Friday.

Whatever happened to the choupique caviar industry? I remember hearing that it was going to be the next big thing.

I have and its some nasty shite. Think cod liver oil but a much stronger fishier taste. No point in me ever trying it again. The only reason people claim to eat is status because sardines are delicious compared to caviar.
