We ate at a seafood restaurant up there one time. It wasn't bad, but I can't remember the name right off the top of my head.

Go to Cotham's in Scott, AR. It's just outside LR, and it's better than the Cotham's downtown. I drool for their bacon jalapeño cheeseburger, sweet tea, and peach cobbler.

We drove to the game a few years ago on Thanksgiving Day. There was not even a fast food place open from Shreveport. That night the Peabody had a buffet for the team and hotel guests and the Flying Saucer opened around 8 PM. It is about a three block walk away. There is a restaurant a few doors down from the Flying Saucer that had great fried shrimp. I also recall that the LSU and Arkansas fans got along surprisingly well.

While in Little Rock, go to the Purple Cow. Great burgers and milkshakes.

Really good choice if you have kids too.

Road food is rough.

What area will u be for lunch?

I used to work/dine out there weekly - some of the better spots:

Ashley's at the Capitol- Upscale
Arthur's Prime Steakhouse
Whole Hog - BBQ
1620 - Arkansas "French" lol
Capers
Loca Luna

Sonny Williams is walking distance from Peabody, but Arthurs is better. Couple bars with mediocre bar food within walkin distance. Im sure u would rather Ashleys than Flying Fish, Gusano's etc.

Dont eat italian (Bruno's was good - closed) or messican (Cantina Laredo ur best option)

Let us know where u will b around lunch and will try to help..... But unwill b very limited. I made the drive from BR-LR almost weekly for years.

If you grab lunch in Vicksburg, you must grab the round table at Walnut Hills...on and off of the interstate...fast service...and unbeatable food.

I'm more partial to Rusty's on the River. You tried it Otis? Walnut hill is killer too. The Beachwood used to be a favorite, but there ship seems to have sailed.

Make sure to grab some beer before you get out of Morehouse parish. That horrid strectch of pine trees from Bastrop to Pine Bluff is void of beer. And it's a road that's damn near impossible to cope with without beer.

You got to make it your next stop. Get off at the casino exit and head North up buisness 61 through downtown. Down there a few miles on the right. It's a gem.
