I'll chime in, this is one of the best bang for the bucks and much easier to find that Weller 12. Picked up today at Elios.

Saw Rebel Yell on the shelf for about $13 one day and thought, what the hell. It turned out to be pretty darned decent, especially for the price.

This. It's probably the best "value" bourbon you can get. It's my go-to for that alone.

How do you guys drink these 'sipping whiskeys'? Straight up, dash of water, ice, ???

Room temp, drop or 2 of water. Not convinced the water really does anything though.

The big thread is not for me. it's full of those 100$ a bottle bourbon snobs fun to look at all the fancy bottles but for me its Early Times usually 8-09$ a fifth 18 for a big bottle and just poured in a chilled glass for me.

Right now I'm going between a bottle of old forester 1920, a E.H. Taylor four grain and old stand by buffalo trace for casual pours and OF's

true....it's not really pretentious, but it's also not much of a conversation or interaction. I kinda always wished the whiskey baws on here would do something like a FPD thread...I think that would be more enjoyable..but that's just me

Just saw Rouses in Denham has started carrying rebel yell. Had it several years ago hunting in Alabama. Gonna pick up a 5th or two.

I have a silicon ice cube tray that makes 6 big cubes. Put one in good glass, add whiskey.

Can add simple syrup, club soda, or water as desired. Melted ice is usually the best when the whiskey is good.

On behalf of the W/B/S thread, we do often get folks asking for recs and saying what they like, and we hope to send folks in the right direction.

If you know about Four Roses, you know some good juice.

A new bourbon thread is always refreshing but please don’t think the big thread isn’t looking for newcomers.

Just chiming in to say I've been on an Elijah Craig run lately since Costco hasn't had any Buffalo Trace. Not a snob, just enjoying some mid-20's juice. Hadn't seen much Eagle Rare lately either. My other go-to.
