Do you do it? I am not a fan. Takes away from the dish.

I don’t usually. It affects the crispness.

I do, the acid is a nice contrast to the fatty richness of fried whatever.

This, plus I loathe lemons.

Good point. I'm a tartar sauce fan, but very light dip of it on the end of a piece of seafood. I use lemon zest and juice in mine with cornichons and a little sweet pickle relish as well. I also use chopped olives, capers and onions. I don't like just straight lemon juice on the seafood, though.

Takes away from the dish? It absolutely enhances the dish. Adds a nice brightness to the seasoned batter.

And for the person saying it makes the food soggy...you pouring lemon juice over your fried fish and shrimp?

I understand it aint for everybody. But we use lots of lemon juice and put it in almost everything. The trick is just a little goes a long way. It's wonderful on fried seafood lightly dripped on it makes it taste fresher. Great on baked or bbqed fish and gives a fresh citrus flavor when splashed in sauces as well. We use lots because we have lots.

When 1 lemon tree hands ya a wheel barrow full of lemins ta figure all kind of fun ways to use the juice.

I didn't get much citrus this year and probably only about 30 Meyer lemons. Last year's freeze really hurt and this year's was worse. My trees look AWFUL! I'm not sure they're going to come back this time. I see some green on a few coming out, but only in sparse places. I still have a few or my Meyer lemons left.

I use a lot of lemon also and I love the zest. Citrus zest is underrated. I use it a lot.
