5 is my limit. Had some superbowl leftovers as well last night, but the rest went in the trash for pickup today.

I tend to keep stuff until it absolutely goes bad. I use the food disposal very seldom for what it was invented for. I also do my grocery shopping early in the morning because I get to choose from the most reduced-priced perishables from the day before ahead of the crowds.

Depends on what it is, but I'll stretch it out anywhere from 4-7 days, sometimes more.

I would do this.

Typically, though, I don't eat leftovers long. Mainly because I am a sucker for cravings and/or get the itch to cook too often.

I made a pot of white beans 2 nights ago that neither of us have even served ourselves yet. Not even the night it was made.

I mostly cook in bulk and when done cooking I'll put the food in containers and put it in the fridge to cool. I'll use a large container with the intentions to bag it up in quart bags and freeze for later use.

The smaller container I'll keep to eat off of for 2-3 days then put whatever is left in bags to freeze.

Stuff that doesn't freeze well, I'll eat on it for 4-5 days before tossing it.

Honestly, I have an aversion to leftovers. Once they're more than a day old, it's a no for me.

6 days at most for most items, I'm trying to not cook as much as I use to and my kids are getting older and eating more, so I've been having less and less leftovers.

I don't like to throw away/waste food. This would go in the freezer.

I hear ya. I don’t plan to throw it away! I just haven’t frozen it yet in hopes someone eats it. I froze the first half of it already.

It’ll sit in the freezer for an eternity before it gets eaten, though. I suck at big batch meals because I honestly like cooking and never just want to defrost something.

When I cook beans it's at least 6 pounds of dry beans. I always have quarts of beans in the freezer ready to go.

Back in the day I would go almost a week out but was shamed for that by my sister in law.

Now I shop for only 3 or so days out so I rarely have something like cooked protein in there for more than about 4 days. I will eat some deli meat a week out at times though.

It rare that I through something out though. Chances are I am going to eat that shite!

I shop once per week (Saturdays after lunch).

So if it’s in the fridge when I get back with fresh groceries to put up, then it’s gone.

Anytime before that is edible.
