They went downhill.

The meat to bread ratio was way off.

I go to the one on airline every so often, but the breakfast tacos have gotten expensive for what you got compared to some other places around town.

Eta: see that their airline location will remain open

Breakfast tacos and Rancheros were good... kolaches... not so much. I don't know if I have ever had a worse kolache than the ones from kolache kitchen.

FWIW, I actually remember eating lunch there before (some kind of sandwich) and thinking it was actually pretty decent.

It really didn't help that you had 50+ menu items in very small locations, while trying not to run out of specific menu items. This is the menu I pulled up from the Bocage location that shut down

Menu has 53 food options, 15 beverage options NOT including how many soda choices there were

kolaches
fruit kolaches
rancheros
empandas
breakfast tacos
specialty coffees
tacos
breakfast sandwiches

Pack all of that into a gas station side room. Being a "kolache" shop and I'm not an expert but everything I've read and experienced tells me that the were better at everything but kolaches. I thoroughly enjoyed their rancheros. There's no reason they should ever have served sandwiches if a good majority of their business relied on baked goods. The tacos were great but as mentioned, they're charging Govt Taco prices for theirs when they didn't come out worth the $5 price tag.

With the amount of baking that actually needs to be done, you need a building bigger than 600 sq feet to make this work. Sad to see them doing poorly again.

As mediocre as their kolaches have become, they’re still better than literally any others around Baton Rouge. If I am wrong, please direct me to where to go. I haven’t found a single kolache worth trying again outside of them in BR.

100%, and they could skate by if the bread was amazing, but it wasn't even good.

Sambath on Essen. But just a warning, the lady is going to talk your ear off and try to get you to come back and eat their Thai food for lunch.

My favorite kolache is the donut shop on cedarcrest and airline. It’s the generic Eckrich jalapeño and cheese sausage, but they use croissant dough. When you bite into it, the top is crunchy and flakes and the inside dough is soft and light.

Kolache kitchen was always 90% bread and 10% filling. I never enjoyed them.

Heavenly donut on highland road has good kolaches. While you're at it try one of their "cronuts" which is a croissant cooked like a donut.

Good morning donuts on the corner or cedarcrest and airline hwy has the best kolaches in town. They're made with a light buttery croissant.

Her curries are good but the best Thai food is Kay’s in the back of the Artist Loft on Saturday only. Made from scratch egg rolls that are 2 bucks and amazing. She has a line by 10:30 and sold out by 1:00.

im no kolache connoisseur but i always thought they were great at MLs and this new spot on Lee Drive, Delicious Donuts. How fricking complicated do people think bread and sausage is?
