A donut king cake is not a king cake, its a giant damn donut..... Give me the traditional twisted cinnamon dough.

In Shreveport, the top ones are in this order

1. Southern Maid- it’s a freaking donut king cake.
2. Tubb’s Hardware- cake is decent enough, icing and cream filling is rediculous. I know him personally and he says it’s his own recipe.
3. Julie Anne’s- just a very good all around product. A little pricey.
4. Lilah’s- located in Highland’s, they are about a B+ all around. Good cake for the money.

Keller's Bakery in Lafayette has the best! A very unique king cake.

My sis says the Ambrosia Bakery is best in BR. She suggests the “Zulu” if you are a coconut cream fan, though it’s not the most traditional

Calandro’s is surprisingly good for a grocery store. Their cream cheese is my favorite.

I will get one King Cake this year and it will be from Maurice's French Bakery. Either the praline or strawberry flavor. OK maybe both.

If you like a big arse stuffed donut, then yes.

Totally different than the traditional king cake.

How has no one mentioned Larry Ragusa King Cakes, formally known as Ragusa Bros. King Cakes?
