What are the sexual harrassment allegations? The article only says he had a consensual relationship with an employee 2 years ago?
lol at anyone that thinks the restaurant/ service industry is the same as others. It's vastly different. While they should have HR, I would bet they don't because it's basically his chain of restaurants that all operate under different rules and their managers deal with those directly. So he has whatever many restaurants that each employee 100-200 each and then his side businesses that have handfuls of employees. It's not like it was a chain restaurants.
The service industry is completely different industry, that's like saying strippers and nurses have similar Hr rules. Females literally push the limits all the time themselves to get tips, better schedules, Better table sections, etc. That doesn't make it right, it makes it life. They also serve booze and normal hours of operation are 10pm to 2pm. People get drunk and horny and stuff happens. Doesn't make anything right, but happens constant in the industry.
Due to the hours and job conditions, there are also a ton of assholes and bad work working conditions. Women too, they either become extremely tough or they leave pretty quickly. Nice good girls arent exaxrly strippers for example, that's to the extreme but not too far off.
Lastly, this crap happens all the time in privately held businesses. Owner screws up personally and they put someone else in charge while owner operates quietly on the sidelines until things clear up. He'll lose money, but the idea most of his restaurants will close is simply laughable unless there's way more than the articles state.
My guess is the casino changes names until It clears up and Besh comes back later after operating it quietly the whole time. Simply firing him for allegations would cost them a lot of money.

It seems like there are 24 other complaints of some kind that were filed.

Which is a bad situation to not have a very robust centralized HR department to deal with not only these kind of things but others that come up such as racial discrimination and labor lawas. Having 1200 employees opens yourself up to a lot of potential issues if you are depending on individual operating units to do the right things.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he has anything to do with this restaurant. It's basically just his name on the place.
I'm not on the take down Besh bandwagon, but don't sugar coat any of this. His reputation has taken a huge hit and his employees/family, etc are going to suffer. And the Alon restaurant for sure is going to probably end up being a much worse restaurant.
And it sucks that his partner for a very long time that helped build his empire and he are now going to end up in a nasty lawsuit and if John would have done some things differently, none of this may have happened or at least not near at this level.

I and many other enjoy going to his restaurants very much. But after this I feel that it's just a matter of time before the all close up shop. There will be a sharp decline in revenue at his spots. I think he closes them down quick as soon as the get a whiff of profit loss.
He's already losing tv gigs, plus hotels, casinos, etc. are parting ways. I was just told that Borne is going to be gone.

The guy was a grade A a-hole when he was at LSU in ATO fraternity, and he is a grade AAA a-hole as an adult and a celebrity chef.
His food is very good, though
I'm actually surprised it's only 25 women his reputation preceded him.

Why would a good looking, rich guy, who is famous in town, need to harass women? Seems like he could laid at will in NOLA. I'm not saying he didn't, but he certainly didn't have to.

25 women have not claimed that Besh, personally, harassed them.

That ATO house was a dump and LSU demolished it probably mid 90's.

it's about power not sex
power can be intoxicating and addictive

It's more about being in a position of power. Seeing what they can get away with.

Y'all are making this guy out to be a rapist.
Posted on 10/25/17 at 10:04 pm to Gaston
Yes, and why is no one talking about Shaya’s part in it all? Several of the 25 accusations came from his employees. Also several people have commented that he was an absolute douche to work for. He was trying to leave BRG with 3 restaurants, but he totally went to the press out of humble piety. Sure.
