Outside of Louisiana, I dont think anyone has a clue what jambalaya really is... One time in college, the cooks at our fraternity house made "jambalaya" and it was a nasty soupy concoction. I don't know how people manage to frick it up so bad

One of my buddies travels the mid west for work. He orders Jambalaya whenever it’s on the menu of the restaurants he eats in.... Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota. Then he sends me pics to troll me. It’s usually red sauce over rice with a few shrimp and sausage slices on top.
