JIMO's paired with the Leaf will always be a good time. They charge the prices they do because they can. Simple as that.

So a $13 two meat plate at a well known and respected BBQ joint. Don't see what your point is, that's pretty standard pricing IMO.

$15 per pound of BBQ brisket is no bargain when you consider there are no sides and no wait staff. Compare that to the price for fried chicken, and other entrees, at Jacque Imo's, which is a well known and respected restaurant, and the prices at Jacque Imo's are not out of line.

On the high side but not out of line by any means
Hilly Billy BBQ (NOLA) - $13 lb
Rudy's (Chain TX) - $13 lb
Gatlins BBQ (TX) - $15 lb
You do know you can get that same plate of $20 fried chicken Jacque IMOs is selling less than a mile away for $13 at Crabby Jacks.

Honestly, I don't feel that strongly about Jacue Imo's one way or the other. If people love the place, by all means enjoy.
For me, the experience and food isn't worth the wait or going out of my way for. And while I've never had a problem spending top dollar for a good meal, I just don't see the attraction. As an example, we can make etouffe, shrimp creole and catfish (that will be just as tasty) at home.

Well fvcking said. People who bitch about being close to people or prices, just fvcking chill. It's an awesome environment to eat in, if you disagree, learn to live a little.
The food is also damn good IMO and well worth the price.

Clearly, we're talking about two different places.

Great. You telling me how I need to enjoy my dining experiences.
As other's have said, there are about 40 restaurants in N.O. that are better, and I'm not going to stand in line and deal with the noise and cluster fck inside that place unless I'm hosting someone that just thinks they need to go.
If I'm in that situation, I will have my drinks and enjoy myself no doubt, but it is not tops on my list of a "dining environment".
And I don't think there is near as much hate for the place as many of you make it out to be. Just don't suggest the place when asked for N.O. best restaurants and for damn sure don't suggest it for a date night place.

Precisely.

Correct again. I just have no reason to go to the place. Been there, done that enough.

I love the feel and atmosphere of the place. Not sure how anyone could disagree unless you only eat at 5 star white table cloth steakhouses.
