Picked up a bottle of Jameson Black Label today. It was a little rough until I added a little water. Is there a better Irish whisky out there?

I enjoy Jameson, Bushmills & Knappogue Castle but Redbreast is tough to beat.

Powers for Irish coffee ... Tullamore Dew for sippin

Irish whiskey is making a huge comeback, so many distilleries about to come online in the next 5 years and a lot of the current ones don’t have enough barrels to sustain current demand so prices keep rising

Having issues with uploading a pic.... but, Green Spot is damn good and if you can find yellow spot it’s even better. It’s a single pot still run and it’s a bonded whiskey

The red breast mentioned above is great, but they make a 15yr old that is wonderful as well.

I prefer the yellow spot over all.

I agree with Redbreast 15yr. But I enjoy Green Spot over the more expensive Yellow.

Knappogue Castle 12 and 15 are also great.

Middleton Dair Gaelach is probably in my Top 5 Whiskeys of all time. It's absolutely stunning and worth the hundreds it costs.

Middleton Barry Crockett is also really amazing.

Redbreast 12yr cask strength...best there is. Better than the 15 and 21. About $85.

This is one to keep an eye on and potentially stock up. Demand is high and not enough supply, should go up in price significantly the next few years (Source: a guy in Dublin)

It’s good shite

Spent a week in Dublin last year and none of them will even touch Jameson . The neat thing was that many of the old, established pubs had their own brand of whisky. I pretty much drank Temple Bar out of its 12yr over the course of a few days. I'd love to be able to get it here, probably the smoothest whisky/whiskey I've ever had. If you can get your hands on some Poitin I would highly recommend. It's their version of moonshine, delicious.

Had the Glendalough 13 bourbon cask when I was there. Damn strong. Wish I was sober enough to remember all these better

The story we were told was back years ago several of the biggest irish whiskey distilleries had to merge just to stay afloat during its big downturn. They decided to put all their marketing efforts into one brand and they chose Jameson. Why? It was in a green bottle so it was the easier to brand as “Irish” in the US ... had nothing to do with Jameson being better or worse than others.

I prefer Irish whiskey over Scotch. Bourbon, etc. Dollar for dollar, Redbreast 12 and 15 are great, but I usually prefer Middleton Very Rare.

There are many new distillers so I'm hoping there will be some new daily drinkers at lower prices.

The Irish spell whiskey with an 'e' FYI.

I bought some of this stuff duty free coming home the last time I went to Ireland... it's amazing.

For just an everyday sip, Tullamore Dew is a good bargain.
