Anyone here ever been Big Leagued by a friend going to a beer festival or big time whalez share?

Say you are waiting in line to get into a public event that starts in a couple hours and up walks your buddy who proceeds straight to the back door and is let in quickly and then the door slams...he proceeds to drink whalez with the elite mavens for a couple hours before the doors open to you and the rest of the peons. How would this make you feel? What kind of friend is tbis??

Who do you consider to be the bottle date mavens?

It was more like an hour or so. He had connections with a brewery at the event, I didn't.

It didn't bother me, but I'm not a preteen girl that gets my feelings hurt if I'm not included in everything my friends do.

Anyone with tastebuds will agree with that assessment. He was trying to give me names of IPAs that tend to hold their original flavor over 90 days or so.

I'm not saying the recipe is changing at all. All i'm saying is that batch 8 tastes different than batch 9.

I don't know why, all of a sudden, there is this backlash against people who tastes something different between batches of beer. Maybe its because some people came off sounding pretentious about it, but i perceived noticeable differences between several Ghost batches.

Hell, i tasted noticeable differences between batches of Great Raft Commotion. Had one batch of their's that tasted distinctly like grapefruit, then the batch after that, or 2 after that, the stronger grapefruit flavor wasn't there and i picked up more of the green onion-y flavor that B talks about with Mosaic hops.

Like i said, i can do a side by side of the previous ghost brewed 1/12 i believe, and the newer ghost. Yes some of that is freshness. But i tasted the 1/12 ghost 2 weeks after it released for the first time and i found it came off with less hop aroma and flavor and was boozier. I found it to be similar to the bottle of the previous batch i had.

I do agree that this happens. At one time i thought dogfish head 90 minute ipa was the best ipa ever made. Today, i don't really care to drink it anymore. It's too malty for my taste.

However, my tastes aren't changing that much in a span of a week or 2 unless i'm sick.

This improves as the weather warms.

I bought two bombers of Clown Shoes' Space Cake bottled on 9/15/15. Hopefully it is still good. DIPA's should have a longer shelf life. Hoping they're still good.
