That is an issue for me, as well.

Best I've been to was Modus Operandi north of Sydney. The beer was great, atmosphere was cool, comfortable seating, darts, and you can stumble a couple blocks to the Pacific Ocean.

Urban Farm Fermentory and Gruit Brewing Co. in Portland, ME.

BY FAR the coolest brewery I have ever been to. Not too crowded, but not empty. Tons of tap options from eclectic styles. The atmosphere is so fantastic.

There are plenty of other breweries that I like more, but don’t enjoy the space as much. That makes a difference for me.

Trillium. They rotate the beers on tap frequently, have a good mix of options, the food/menu is incredibly good. Plus it has 3 floors, with the second being a full restaurant and the third being an outdoor patio.

Fort Point or Canton?

I haven't been to a bunch, but Fisher Brewing in Salt Lake is my favorite so far. LINK

I liked the atmosphere at Fisher, but thought their beers were a bit meh. And aren't they food truck only? Still a nice spot, especially for SLC!

That's what I was looking for. If I ever find myself in the wrong Portland, I will check that one out.

I mentioned my fave was Ft George. There are breweries that have better beer, better food, or better views, but altogether, it's the total package.

Rouge's suggestion of pFriem is right up there, too. The only thing holding pFriem back is that there is always a crowd there. There is a new brewery a few doors down that I'm hoping thins the crowd out a bit at pFriem. We'll see.

Pelican is also busy, but you can buy a beer and walk on the beach there, so the wait for a table or a spot at the bar isn't that bad. The only thing holding it back is the beer, which is solid, but not great, IMO. The view at that one almost trumps everything else.

Seaport, the new one.

The only thing about Canton that’s better than the Seaport is that they allow dogs.

This is a fun one in Shreveport... the best beer hands down is great raft, but they have the worst atmosphere IMO. It's loud as hell with nothing but metal stools.... I'd pick red river since they have cool tap room, fat calf....and now serve great raft beer

Of the places I've been in and spent time, it would be the Augustiner Bräustübl in Salzburg. Indoor/outdoor with beer served in 0.5 or Liter stone mugs, Austrian food, and a mix of locals and tourists. Beer comes from wooden barrels and tapped right in front of you. Plus, the place is open until 11PM everyday.

Food

When you want a beer, you pay the cashier, you get a ticket, grab a mug from the wall

Then you give the mug a rinse, and give the ticket to the biermann (on the right side of the pic).

I will be at Fort George & Pfreim in a few weeks. I will also be hitting up Great Notion, Modern Times & the rest of Portland’s finest.
I’ll be spending a few days in Seattle as well.

I want to say urban South, but they don’t have a set food option. Rotating food trucks.

My favorite producer of beer but isk about brewery.

Yep. They have to serve the Utah draft beer which is less than 4%. The beers were OK, but the atmosphere was great.

I've been to Avery in Colorado and all the ones here in Bham and Asheville. I really want to go to Portland, Maine as I hear the brewery scene there is outstanding.

Did you know that Great Notion just opened a new taproom on NW 28th? Not far from Breakside Slabtown.

If you go to Ft George, I recommend the Lovell Taproom, which is in the production area of the brewery. That's where you'll be able to try all their experimental beers, including the beta versions of this year's 3-Way. Check for the hours, because they are different from the rest of the brewery.

Yes I plan on checking out Great Notions new location while I’m up there.
I’ll check out the hours on Ft George as well, thanks for the info.
What’s the brewery you recommended besides pfreim in hood river?

Ferment (brand new) is just a couple of doors down, and has a terrific outdoor area on the second floor overlooking the Gorge. Double Mountain has really good pizza (although I was disappointed in the BBQ Chicken pizza we had last time). Full Sail has a great view of the Gorge up on the hill.

Here's a little twist. Everybody's Brewing is in White Salmon, WA, right across the river. Stunning view of Hood River with Mt Hood as a backdrop. They make some very good beer, too. Even though Hood River is closer to Mt Hood, you can't actually see the mountain from the town because the foothills block the view. That's not a problem from the other side of the river.

Jester King was the best brewery experience I’ve had. It’s an amazing place.

I really like small out of way breweries too, Fonta Flora is a place I’d love to go back to.
