What would it be? Take into account the beer, the food, the atmosphere, the clientele, and how busy it usually is.

What trait(s) puts it over the top for you?

I think I would pick Fort George. Hard to beat combination of view, beer, food, and atmosphere. The drawback is that it's an hour and a half away...

Having said that, do not consider location. We're trying to find the best brewpub to hang out in.

I would think we would pick something local like you did, since that is what we have access to and would say Nola Brewery which has McClure's BBQ inside.

I picked based on experience, not location. I would rather you not limit it based on locale. Maybe specify what your preferred brewery does that you can't get locally. We're trying to find the perfect brewpub.

If it's in Chicago, it's in Chicago...

Did I mention that Ft George has a rooftop bar? It's pretty badass...

Well that is my thought process and Nola has been putting out some solid beer. Nola also has a second level, outside but the view is the Mississippi River ..

I wish Ft. George was clossr to Portland.

You are going to the coast in June, right? Stop at Ft George. They are family friendly...

You can still go elsewhere. Let's phrase it as if you had any Brewery you want as your local neighborhood Brewery

It's in Astoria, which is at the mouth of the Columbia River. It's a very cool little town that your wife and daughter will love. Their are a couple of other nice breweries in the town, too. Reach Break and Buoy. Reach Break is only a block away from Ft George. Buoy is on the water and has a section of glass flooring in the dining room that allows you to see the scourge of sea lions lounging on the docks directly underneath the restaurant.

Trillium. They rotate the beers on tap frequently, have a good mix of options, the food/menu is incredibly good. Plus it has 3 floors, with the second being a full restaurant and the third being an outdoor patio.

I haven't been to a bunch, but Fisher Brewing in Salt Lake is my favorite so far. LINK
